Once excellent, now average. And for those who have only just discovered it, I am sure you might have loved it. However, I remember it when it was smaller, more intimate and friendlier. I would imagine that owners have sold out and/or new management, because the once generous and great value for money sandwich bar has now become precious with portions and not such good value for money. Whilst the quality remains the same, there is something lacking. That, I think is the stingy portion counting and hiked prices. Also went in at 10, which is their opening time, and got told it would not be open until 11. They had a buffet on or some other reason. So, why then not take on extra staff for that day? I do not need to make other people wealthy at my expense. Despite doing pretty much the same standard of food, I am not a fan of whoever is running it now. All about profit and not customer loyalty.
Lovely little sandwich/tea/coffee shop. My food was fresh and very tasty. Staff plesent and helpful. I had that Cajun chicken 'beast' and can highly recommend , if you like something spicy.
This is the second time I have been into this sandwich shop, after giving them another opportunity to prove me wrong and I can safely say there will never be a third. The staff are rude, unhelpful and on both occassions did not make the sandwich that I ordered, resulting in me having to go back in and complain. When I did they argued with me even though I had provided them with a written list of requirements, which they ignored. Rather than apologise and make fresh sandwiches I was told that they would put salad on the existing one, which they did with out wearing gloves and then ushered me off. What a dissapointment it is when you are expected to pay £4.60 for a sandwich. My advice, avoid!
This is a really busy Tea Room the staff are really organised and very busy. Any waiting is apologised for but the food is great. It's not a fast food restaurant so you wait for the food to be prepared and cooked. The cakes are baked on-site which is very rare nowdays as most are bought in.Its a small tea room with the emphasis on quality and have lovely staff. Definately worth another visit.
Popped in for a quick coffee with a friend and the service was great! The menu looked delicious and so after a spot of shopping we went back for lunch : an absolutely delicious prawn, mango and avocado salad. Lovely little spot.
