Fantastic welcome on arrival at this lovely pub. Great pint of Nelsons and how good to be able to go to a pub and just order a sandwich. Served on white bread with crisps these it was tasty with good quality ingredients. Good to see that the bar interior is little changed.
Quite popular with the locals. Bar staff are very pleasant and helpful. Several areas where you can enjoy your meal and/or drink including an upstairs function room and outdoor space for those warmer months.
Absolutely brilliant atmosphere. Awesome family owned pub with a warm fire and large beer garden out back. Always greeted with a smile. Great pub to meet and make friends.
Great traditional pub with a nice outdoor area. Good pub food at reasonable prices and friendly management and staff. A good mix of young and old clientele.
Good selection of ales which were well kept on my visit. Clean and comfortable
I like the Feathers. I dont go there weekly as i live out of town. The Feathers is a smallish pub......its not what I would call roomy inside, so kids can't go running about.....which is a good thing. There are a few enclosed areas within, with tables and couch. I believe that they can be reserved for dining purposes. The staff are very very pleasant..... friendly, helpful, and professional. No request within reason is too much. The food is also very very good, Ive NEVER had a bad meal there, or a poor pint. It is very very much a locals Pub i would say, but all the locals I've met are more than friendly enough. The decor is old world style with beams, and wall panels done in 17th Century, Oak wooden, tavern style. There are various artefacts of antique appearance on the walls, and several old style advertising posters. The bar is quite small, so be prepared to stand 2 or 3 people deep on a busy night. You WON'T wait for hours for a pint as the staff are ALL over place, going flat out, and spaces often pop up. Thats how popular the place is......and how good the staff are. Theres NO barmaids texting while you wait for service. Please do NOT be put off by my size description because there are a LOT smaller pubs in Wymondham. Customers range from young to old, so its a family friendly environment. And its also DOG friendly too. There is a courtyard outside at the rear, with more seating, and tables under a wooden constructed canopy shelter. Its not just a quick pop up job.......its a large, permanent, very professionally, and solidly constructed shelter with several tables. I dont smoke, but the smoking area is also a solid permanent structure, with tables. The ONLY downside i can think of...... off hand......IF I HAD to pick something....... is as follows...... I think that the 2 doors to enter the building may not be really suitable for unaccompanied wheelchair users due to their angles. This is only MY opinion though ok? So DON'T take it as difinitve. I don't use a wheelchair so cannot confirm from a users Pov as I've never had to try.......so i could be wrong, and probably AM. Thats the ONLY thing i can find. What is my reasoning for this you wonder?? Simply this......When you first enter the building, you just go STRAIGHT in, but THEN have to make an automatic LEFT courtyard entrance or RIGHT turn main street entrance because of a partition directly in your path. Only an unaccompanied wheelchair user could give this a valid vindication based on THEIR experiences Next time i go in.....ill have a proper look, AND I WILL CORRECT this review on this point. Ill be using the Feathers again before....and in 2023. 10/10 for presentation, decor, hospitality, food and drink quality, and service. .
Sadly we went here for a wake which was held upstairs in their function room.....plenty of sandwiches...etc all very delicious..especially the cheese and pickle..which Frances did offer to make more!!
Lovely cosy pub , had a of couple nice pints in here before crossing the road for a curry. Nice staff and very cosy on a cold rainy evening. Will be going back soon.
Haven't been in since the pandemic, the food was superb a bigger menu, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal, and great service and value.the ales are superb and well priced several under £4.
Traditional pub & a very warm welcome from Frances & Lorna. Good menu and good food at reasonable prices & served with a smile too. Beer is kept well which means I don't have to resort to lager from the pump in order to enjoy a glass or three. Is now included on our list of regular places to stagger back from....Still enjoying the Feathers after 18 months.
