First visit after a recent menu change which I think was needed. Excellent place, very well laid out, airy and as expected great character. Not too busy but it did pick up a little around 1pm. Three staff on so we expected pretty quick service but I and a few others did have to visit the bar for more drinks and a long wait time for desserts. Meal options were good but I'd say the dinner menu is better than the lunch for sure. I found the club Sandwich to be a tad on the dry side but luckily sauces are provided at the table. My husband found the shin beef to be tasty and well cooked. Desserts and drinks were the best part for us. Excellent banoffee waffles would highly recommend. Staropramen draft also great. Will be back for the cocktails at dinner time!

Nice food with good prices and an enjoyable atmosphere. I recommend it.

Super food in a beautifully restored Fire Station. It was very busy so we were pleased our friends had booked a table in advance. The service was lovely and the young lady who looked after us was very friendly and helpful. We will come again when we are at the Empire and would highly recommend for a pre show meal or just for a drink.

Loved the station features left intact from its original use, it added to the experience. Food was great and plenty of it. We both had two courses, and more drinks than needed. Probably did so because the place had a relaxed atmosphere.Food: 4/5

Had a lovely dinner, although I'm sure they think I'm the worst customer ever. Turned up too early, asked to be moved as we were too cold and then caused confusion with the bill. Every concern was dealt with quickly and cheerfully. The team were all fab and will happily be back again. Thank you.

£5-50 a pint .... In a plastic cup... What's that all about... Everyone drinking wine or gin had a glass to suit the drink.... Soft plastic cups For your beer of choice..... Crazy.... It's not somebody's back garden BBQ or a day at the races in July....

We had burgers from the main menu before a visit to the theatre next door. Waited a long time for our mains we'd nearly finished a whole bottle of wine, fries were lukewarm and katsu sauce for chicken burger not much better, I think it was katsu mayo on menu. Other person did enjoy their burger though.

Very disappointing food flavourless greasy but dry at the same time? Reported to manager nothing they could do! Waitresses were good friendly and quick service. Atmosphere poor just noise background music might aswell not be on! Overall disappointed

The food is average, nothing special in my opinion. We ask for a room engineer burger was a little bit burnt and a katsu burger dry chicken. The service wasn't the best at all, the waitress was taking so long when the restaurant was pretty much empty. And basically much of the staff was chatting next to the till, while we were waiting for the bill.

Had a beautiful meal here last night, the flavours where amazing, staff very friendly and the cocktails where very nice too, will definitely be back
