Update Aug 22, 2022: I purchased a Large cup with a lid while in the store but I broke while on my travels. I figured I’d purchase another online but it wasn’t available. I called the store and spoke with Lubo who was incredibly kind and professional. He assisted me in getting another one purchased and shipped to my home, he even sent me tea samples. Rest assured, I’m a customer for life. Original Post Aug 3, 2022: Heaven! The assortments of tea offered here is incredibly large in scale and equally as diverse. Was offered a Jasmin tea while I perused the lovely tea and saucer sets, kettles and loose leaf teas available. Small containers available to catch the sent all while making sure to buy a few bags to take home. The customer service was lovely, I will say the woman that first assisted me was very soft spoken so I felt like I was making her repeat herself a bit, but we got through it. So happy to know I can order online.
Best Earl Grey tea ever is the Staunton Earl Grey Tea - the aroma is enough to intoxicate let alone the taste - it’s the natural neroli oil and bergamot oil, both citrus fruits. When I used to live in London a few years back, I would buy this in loose leaf form and transport it in sealable bags for my siblings in Adelaide when I visited - they all loved it so much. I had a lovely visit recently & was able to sample a few of their biscuits for the first time - they were so generous too. The Butter Galettes were simple & very moreish, 12 Spices were delicious & quite like Dutch Speculaas, & Ginger Nut were good too. I fell in love with their exquisite tea cups with lids see photo They were about £500 each though, being platinum & rose gold plated… well above my budget
I was lucky enough to be part of a tea tasting hosted by Alina at the store and I have to say that it was wonderful. We tried three different teas and we learnt more about the East India Company and its amazing array of teas. Just popping in to the store, you can try some of the teas and there are amazing biscuits to try. The Sea salt and caramel were my favourites but the Seville Orange Marmalade ones were a very close second. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend a visit. You don't even have to like tea, trust me!
Ah, the once almighty East India company reduced to a mere luxury tea shop. But don't be fooled, it's simply a disguise. There's nothing "luxury" about their products aside from the price. We unfortunately fell for this tourist trap, and bought quite a lot of their tea and cookies that are inferior to even the supermarket's own value brands. Their tea is mediocre at best, and biscuits taste like uncooked flours pressed together. Do yourself a favour and let this sink into history where it belongs.
Absolutely phenomenal customer service! Friendly, welcoming, informative and genuine! Also, there are samples of almost all the snacks so you can try before purchasing. They also have two outdoor tables where you can try a tea for 3£ or take your drink with you. Love the place! Thank you Patricia, Miyokesp and Simone the fantastic store manager!
Wonderful staff in the store. Minoj who assisted me was very friendly. Will definitely be going back there for my teas and coffees.
Totally loved this store! Would definitely recommend if you are a tea drinker, but especially if you are a loose leaf tea lover! Be sure to try all the samples they have available because they are all amazing and will actually help you figure out some of the flavors you might want. So many different selections of green, black, oolong and even white tea. Not to mention all of the little goodies that go along with drinking tea.
This store is amazing, the detail in the design is stunning and the food gifts are beautiful. Service is outstanding they really make you feel welcome. The spiced hot chocolate was gorgeous. I will definitely go back !
A terrible company, behind some of the biggest if not the biggest war crimes in history. Looted trillions from India, sent millions into Poverty while diverting their wealth across Europe, The Church and the Vatican. Caused famines while diverting grains Bengal Famine one of the biggest. In fact before they arrived to India, India was 23% World GDP, after they left 2% world GDP!. Also behind partitioning it Pakistan, Bangladesh so it would not rise again . It was once the biggest economy in the world. Scriptures, archeology, knowledge destroyed and so much history. They will only teach us history from post abrahamic standpoint within 2 thousand years, they wrote history and we were taught. LIES!! The founder of JP Morgan Chase worked directly with THE EAST INDIA COMPANY. Created US federal reserve from the Gold, Silver ... LOOTED! Hope this company rots!
Much better tea shops in London #1 Whittard #2 T2 #3 Twinings. This shop is very expensive and only had 6-9 different types of tea for the average person. If you can afford £110 for few ounces of tea then you may like this place.
