The venue itself is class, it's great to have in North Belfast and the staff are very helpful. There is no real carparking on site, a couple of disabled parking spaces. Though there plenty on the roads around.
Beautiful community center with tons of local programming. The cafe inside is delicious as well.
Billed as a cabaret with community-centered content hosted by Maxine Peak. Turns out to be limited and damaging in it's projections of 'community'. The North Belfast I have seen over 50 years has evolved to have a diverse range of social classes, ethnic groups, religious beliefs and sexual identities. None of this was evident or celebrated. This was in stark contrast to a Chinese New Year celebration that I attended at Ulster Hall- that, although modest in its self-described ambition, was an eye-opening, obviously diverse and joyful, snapshot of many integrations across contemporary Belfast, rather than building from tired old tropes. Much more needs to be done to represent inclusive contemporary community life and aspirations in North Belfast - if that's to be claimed at this venue then, based on my experience, a rethink is needed. The majority of the group I was with felt the same way to differing degrees relating to their backgrounds. This review is submitted in the hope of progressive balance and after much consideration.
Hidden gem!! Worth seeking out not far from the city centre! Just half a mile up the Antrim Road from Carlisle Circus.nnFreshly made food & coffee emphasis on taste and healthy offerings but also great scones too!!nnLoved everything I've tried, varied menu with daily specials. A friendly & helpful couple running things in the kitchen and front of house.
Was here for Cork in the north live podcast which was fantastic and the venue was just perfect for it and nice coffee as well
