The Drop
"Contemporary Caribbean cuisine, beautifully presented, served in an intimate, colourful, wood-clad space with outdoor seating. Passionate about how we use flavours, herbs & spices to create authentic West Indian & Jamaican food seven days a week. We’ve been around for over 9 years sitting proudly on Barlow Moor Road parade of bars. Available for collection by ordering online or straight to your door using Deliveroo voted takeaway champs! The true selling point is the perfectly plated Hench Box, as it says in the name, this is a big plate filled with proper Caribbean flavours!"

I recently dined at The Drop Bar Cafe, a Caribbean restaurant, and had a fantastic experience. We ordered the jerk chicken, curried goat, rice and peas, along with sides of mac and cheese and coleslaw. The food was overall really good, with generous portion sizes that left us with plenty of leftovers to take home. The mac and cheese was a standout, probably the best I've had in the UK so far. The service was also excellent, making the entire dining experience enjoyable. If you're looking for delicious Caribbean cuisine with great service, I highly recommend The Drop Bar Cafe. Dietary restrictions: Fully Halal
Stumbled across this place on our visit to Manchester. The food was deliiiiiiicious, and I’ve never tried Jamaican food so it set the bar very high. We had the Hench drop box with jerk chicken and curry goat, grilled lamb chops, rum punch and the white chocolate and raspberry brownie. Anna was lovely and made sure we were looked after, and gave great recommendations. Would 100% recommend and we will be coming up to Manchester to eat here again!
Mac n cheese was extremely taste and went great with jerk wings. Highly recommend you give them a try. Another satisfied customer drop Bar Parking: Park just down the side road next to the block,The Drop is situated on.
A hidden gem. Our first time at The Drop and it didn’t disappoint. We will certainly be back, the service was excellent and the food was amazing.Food: 5/5
Where do I start? We visited this weekend, and I must say this is the worst experience I have had in the few times I have been there before. The service was slow. We waited over 20 minutes for the order to be taken, and when the waitress finally came over, she had an attitude like she didn't want to be there. By the time the food came, we had been sitting for 50 minutes. The order was wrong and had missing items, and the meat was cold in some parts. Nobody came to ask how it was. At this point, I couldn't be bothered to complain. I didn't want to be met with an attitude. The servers definitely need some training in customer service. The food is usually good here, but I was disappointed that it wasn't thoroughly warmed through. And the plaintain was over cooked If my experience was solely based on this service, I would not come back. However, because I've been here before and had better experiences with other staff members who waited on me, I would think about going back.
Have been for drinks before! And they were great came back for food tonight! And we were not disappointed! Callum the host and Carlos the bar tender were amazing! The food was great shout out to the chefs! Definitely will be back! I want to try the Sunday dinners next!
Undoubtedly some of the best Caribbean food I’ve ever had! I can’t vouch for the restaurant as I’ve never eaten in but we order from here a lot and it is just delicious. Portion sizes are really good too! Has that home cooked taste. Honestly, a thousand compliments to the chef Food: 5/5
The Drop is a lovely little cafe in Chorlton. The food is amazing. I had the jerk halloumi and curried chickpeas with cauliflower. All super tasty, good sized portions. There were 9 of us and the service was excellent. Vegetarian options: Caters well for vegetarians Dietary restrictions: I'm allergic to coconut so they swapped the coconut rice and peas for me.
A cosy, welcoming Caribbean spot with a diverse menu. Staff are super kind and attentive. We ordered the famous Hench Box with their top two best sellers: jerk chicken and curry goat. It was enough to feed two! Jerk chicken was saucy, soft and falling off the bone as was the goat. The slaw and dumpling were perfect accompaniments, adding texture to the fluffy coconut rice. Definitely revisiting once in Manchester again, this time for their best selling Sunday Caribbean roast! Note: card payments only Dietary restrictions: Halal food offered
Unfortunately, even though I have been a few times, tonight was my last. I tried ringing the restaurant around 6:30, tried twice, and had no answer. But this isn't a surprise as once I tried it about 10 times in a row and no one picked up and when I walked in it was dead.... anyway, so I went to book a table for tonight, and the website let me do it. It says on Google closes at midnight, but for the last table, it was 21:30. Well it's my mums birthday so I booked for 9 pm. Yes, I was 10 minutes late, but seeing as they never answer the phone, I cannot communicate this. Not only did I waste fuel for 14 miles but then to be turned away as the kitchen was closed. Surprising given the website let me book a table and Google says you close late..... also my mum hasn't tried this place and I kept hyping it up to my friends aswell. So you've lost customers through word of mouth. Considering on the strip it was the most dead place you'd think they'd have the custom.
