Fantastic jerk chicken! Dougy’s brings true Caribbean flavor and charm to Moss Side. The jerk chicken is well spice and literally falls of the bone.
We ordered the curry-goat, fresh salad greens, fried chicken, rice and peas and fried dumplings: ital vegan stew and plantain to share amongst x20 hungry boys and x7 adults. The curry-goat was succulent tender cuts of goat-meat, and the curry sauce was rich and robust but not overpowering. The chicken was also seasoned to perfection and all serving bowls were emptied and every plate was clean. The dumplings were crisp, flavourful, and fluffy. All of the mains worked together beautifully with the plantains and the salad. The coleslaw was packed with flavour and had a great consistency with very little water content. By the end of the meal we were counting down the clock Dougy’s lunch delivery the next day.
First time here and cannot say anything other than absolutely AMAZING. Exceptional customer service, helped me select my order. Service with a smile and if that was not enough amazing food! Ordered jerk chicken which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. Mac n cheese on point too and also purchased their aloe vera drink - incredible palette cleanser after a flavour popping meal. Cannot wait to go back again... Visit is a must.
Dry fish almost every time I visit here. Some staff members are miserable, but some friendly. Not the best tasting Caribbean food unfortunately. Very basic I'm Caribbean, i know what fried fish is supposed to taste like, not all dried out and hard like your teeth will fall out. Tell the chefs just to stop overcooking it. The rice and peas could do with some thyme, some coconut milk too. I say this lovingly. I respect how long you have been in business.
This place is amazing. The guy never stopped smiling, never stopped being friendly and fed all 9 of us with the most amazing food. Huge portions, cheap prices and thanks to his mum for dishing out the dumplings. I wish I could come back but I live in London, so if you're nearby- GO! I hope he reads this because he deserves to know he is bloody brilliant.
Delicious Jamaican food. Good service and reasonably priced....... probably due to me being used to London's prices. Options are good as well with a range changing to match the day.... Sunday roast etc. If they were open later on Sundays it would be a plus

The food here is peng! I come here whenever I can let me tell you, the owners are doing an excellent job! There steak and rice is delicious would rather eat this wholesome Jamaican food than some unhealthy stuff elsewhere! Their frozen pomegranate is awesome too!
Last time I'll eat here, this is a piss take. Just picked up two large dinners, get home and both only got 1 piece of chicken in each and hardly any gravy but loads of rice. Thought, bit cheeky but no big deal better luck next time until I started eating it. The rice taste disgusting, its taste and smells burnt like a ash tray smell, got it on a plate next to me and I can smell it so the staff must of known and if they didn't know then there's a problem. Have been eating here since I was a kid since it was on moss lane but feel its gone down hill. Will spend my money else where.
Great value, authentic West Indian take away. The food is really tasty, the service is pleasant and l found them competitively priced for external catering too. The only Caribbean take away l go to when I'm in Manchester
