I've been on a medication for two and a half years now, two years at my former GP and half a year with the Marlow Medical Group. When I was first diagnosed and put on this medication, it was made very clear to me that this was something that I would require for the rest of my life. When I switched to the Marlow Medical Group, I made an appointment to see a doctor to ensure that my medications and records had been moved across correctly; they confirmed that they had and gave me another 2 month perscription. Another 2 months later I was able to get this renewed for another 2 months via their repeat perscriptions service. When went to renew the perscription again, however, the response to my request was that it couldn't be done because it was "against policy" - I calmly explained to them that I had been on it for years, and needed it for my health, and that it had been signed off my multiple doctors. The person I spoke to told me that they would check and get back to me the following day as I had told them I was going to run out relatively soon. They didn't get back to me the following day, I had to call them up the next week and when I got through to them they hadn't checked. I stressed again that I would soon be running out so they agreed to go away and call me back. When they did, they told me they'd spoken with another doctor and it was a firm no on the perscription; I would have to go back to a private doctor to get it. I was shocked and objected, stating again that I can't live without this medication, but they did not seem particularly perturbed and said they'd give me 2 weeks supply to tide me over while I figured out what to do. I managed to convince them that that was not enough talked them up to 4 weeks. I went into the practice to book an emergency appointment to sort this out, but they were only able to give me an appointment a week and a half away (immediately illustrating why two weeks supply would have been ridiculous!) however when I went to this appointment I was shocked to find out this was neither with the doctor I had originally seen, or the doctor who had apparently made the decision to end my perscription so suddenly. This third doctor was unable to help, unwilling to second guess their colleagues but agreed to raise it as a "significant event". A week later the doctor who had made the call to end it calls me, again saying that it is "against policy" and they refuse to listen to me at all. They tell me it was previously perscribed to me "in error" and that I should go elsewhere for the medication, despite the fact they admitted that I needed it. I then tried to explain how cruel it was for their practice to give me care for months then yank it away without notice but they refused to acknowledge this. So I'm now I'm left without a GP providing me care, who's only advice is to go private for an essencial medication. I don't feel safe using them for anything now I've been treated this way.

They were quick and understandable for the emergency I had. Clean and the doctors and receptionist and everyone encountered were lovely and profesional.

Waiting times are atrocious. I've had to wait at least 2 weeks for every single appointment which surprised me as I never waited more than 2 days in London. That said, the receptionists are surprisingly polite and treat you like a human being. The waiting rooms aren't too clinical and the doctors are relatively friendly and understanding.
