​I was quite disappointed with our visit, which is why I’ve only given it four stars. The food itself was very mediocre—nothing particularly special—and the service felt hurried and not overwhelmingly welcoming.n​It was very busy when we arrived, which is understandable, and we had booked a table in advance. Because I was with my 90+ year-old mum on a particularly hot day, I had submitted a specific request for an outdoor table with an umbrella. When we arrived, the outside area had no umbrellas at all.n​Knowing we couldn't sit in the direct sun, I asked to sit inside instead. They placed us right in the middle of the restaurant. I was hosting visiting family from out of town who had never been to Wallasey Beach or this Harvester before, and I had chosen this specific location for its views. When I asked if we could move closer to a window or door so they could look out, I was told those tables were all reserved. While I understand that, I felt the restaurant should have checked my booking notes beforehand. Since they knew they didn't have umbrellas outside, a bit of foresight would have shown them that seating us outdoors wasn't going to be an option.n​Ultimately, I didn't feel like we received great customer service or any real effort to accommodate us. On a positive note, the restaurant was lovely and clean, and the food service was quick.
My family and I have been here a lot over the years and we always have a great experience.nFor our most recent visit, I had booked the function room for my daughter’s 16th birthday. The room was a perfect size for her and her friends. I booked one off the buffets - great value - there was so much food and quite a few left overs- the restaurant provided me with some boxes so I could take it home.nI was able to go in earlier in the day to put up some decorations and they said I could arrange the tables how I wanted.nThe service was fantastic, we had a lovely lady looking after us - Amanda thank you so much for your fantastic service and kindness, the manager was also lovely, nothing was too much bother. Some more of the staff also came in to sing happy birthday to my daughter.nThe derby pool hosts great views and is a perfect backdrop for some great pictures.nIf you are after a space for a celebration or to host an event, I absolutely recommend the derby poolharvesters function room.nThe room is free to use, you just pay for the food and the drinks, different food options available.nThank you derby pool for helping to make my daughter’s birthday celebration a success.
Great restaurant in a lovely setting. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The service by Diego was exceptional. He was very sociable and attentive and made us feel very welcome. Would definitely come back
Pipa was fantastic, she had a lovely manner and served us at a nice timely speed. She was funny and helpful and went the extra mile to make sure we had a good experience. She was lovely with all the customers she was serving and built good rapport at every table. And she told us about the Harvester discounts, which was a great bonus!
I’ve just returned home after a lovely evening at the Harvester. The menu had a good variety of choices and the food was really nice. However, what made our evening perfect was the excellent service from the lovely Spanish waiter, Diego. Nothing was too much for him, he was efficient, charming and funny and a complete expert at his job. We will definitely be returning soon 1 because of the first class service from Diego 2 because of the lovely food. Last but not least thank you to the rest of the staff who were also friendly and efficient and provided a lovely atmosphere to spent time in.
