Chicken still cold and pink in the middle, rude member of staff on the phone trying to convince me that because it was and I quote “cooked twice” that it couldn’t possibly still be pink in the middle, he then also proceeded to tell me that chicken can be served pink in the middle. Delivery driver collected the meal in question and I was promised a refund, two weeks later I’m still yet to receive a refund. Coincidentally when visiting my barbers last week it turns out that he and his brother were feeling rather unwell after having had a takeaway from here the night before.
I’ve tried man Indian cuisine but by far this is the best. The customers services is exceptional and they always serve with a smile. Definitely gonna have to have this again. If you want your taste bugs to be amazed Definitely give this place a visit.
Very disappointed!!! Placing the order it took just over two hours to arrive, after 3 telephone calls. Being told it would be 5 minutes and having to call back 20 minutes later to find it still wasn’t close by. The food was cold, the popadoms were awful and the salad was literally mush! To top it off, speaking with a member of staff on the phone who decided to hang up the phone mid conversation. They will definitely not be having my service ever again.
Appalling service. Staff were completely indifferent. We had to wait an hour and a half just for our starters to arrive, despite asking a number of times and then telling them that we would just leave. It was only then that our food quickly appeared. Not ONCE did we receive any form of apology. Absolutely will NOT be returning.
Had a takeaway the weekend, haven’t eaten from here in years, was very happy, food was great, portion sizes very good, prices very good, very happy
I used to eat here back in 2009 then I moved away for a while. Was quite pleased to return and see the restaurant is still here. Great food and great service!! Will definitely return
OK where to start, Haveing seen many recent good reviews we thought we would give the new Darjeeling under new management a try. We ordered online for collection for 6.00 pm acknowledgement received order available for collection 6.20 not a problem. While I was waiting for my order I thought I would also pick up a copy of latest special offers and menu. With plates ready on my arrival home and while starting to plate up we noticed some additional poppadoms not ordered nice start. Onion bhaji looked very nicec if a bit bland, it was only when eating I noticed they were very floury and not at all well cooked. The other starter Also Chat was all potatoes looking very aged overcooked with lots of sauce. The mains Tandoori Salmon with special request extra well cooked, well cooked, it was not the rest of the dish was very poor quality. Another Main and normally a favourite Chefs special murgi masala, mince was in large chunks chicken appeared to be some old tandoori chicken thrown in for good measure and as dry as dry with the sauce. Additions Saag Aloo more yellow translucent potatoes looking as if the time had been cooked out of the several days prior. Not of course forgetting the salad, brown and decaying. How could this get any Worse? Those online prices 19% more expensive than the menu prices are menu. Onion bhaji menus cost 3.45 online price 4.10, Murgi Masala menus price 9.95 online price over 11.80 and Tandoori Salmon from 12.95 to over 15.40 . I may have been unlucky with the food but the pricing is just wrong. The one star was for the extra popadoms if you were wondering, the food was all very poor with most going in the bin. Take away price before discount over £44.00.
We ordered a delivery for 7:30pm and it arrived at 6:30pm, an hour before our guests. We turned it away and called the restaurant to ensure it was made fresh for later - but clearly it wasn’t. The pancakes in the Prawn Purée were like rubber, the lamb chop dish was like glue and the rest was just luke warm. Awful to think they thought we didnt notice this food was an hour old when delivered !! Do not use as clearly not proud of their product!
Beautiful meal this eve. We usually order a takeaway/delivery but decided to dine in this time, and with a 20% discount on a Thursday, a bonus! Food and service perfect.
Interesting Indian restaurant. Wednesday night special was great value for £17 per head. Last time we passed by it in March 2018, it was closed.
