My husband and I visited Belfast and Northern ireland over 2 weeks ago. We were staying in Ballymena we found it unfriendly and judgemental once they heard our southern Ireland accent or saw our Irish car. But we stopped here on the hop on hop off bus tour and it eas so nice people smiled at us we felt so comfortable here. A love girl on the cafe side was so nice to us and spoke to us . It was one of the highlights of our trip to Northern ireland.
Beautiful art center. Prices are a bit steep though, I once bought an absolutely stunning cup here. It was my very favorite cup and I posted many unnecessary photos of it on fb and Instagram without filters because it didn't need it. I was always careful washing it. One day to my absolute horror and went to grab my cup and there was a long crack down the side of it
Had lunch here today with family - food is wonderful and the staff are delightful. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Highly Recommended
Went to see Joby Fox & Ursula Burns playing. 2 course meal was top class grub! Enjoyed every second.
No car park. Disabled access great. Food and service excellent. Bring your own alcohol or buy from across the road.
nice venue for small events. had a great time watching a folk music/interpretative dance/acrobatic/cyr wheel performance. couldn't go to the cafe as it was reserved for a private event, but the bookstore had many interesting Irish themed items on sale.
I had the most foul tasting potato and leek soup I've ever tasted, soup was sour with very little seasoning and one tiny piece of wheaten bread plus a cup of tea, friend had a slice of bought in cake with a dollop of squirty cream and a coke, and for the privilege of this it came to 16 pounds, total ripoff,we could have had a lunch anywhere for this price,I wanted to see what the place was like, and did I get my eyes opened, nothing irish about it,will never be back.
Ordered 1 small 1 large fry, the worst I'd ever tasted! Everything was deep fat fried, and the large fry was the smallest I'd ever had!! We also had to ask for doors to be closed as the place was cold.
Recently attended an intensive Irish course here, really good course and the bookshop is excellent came away with books for myself and my 3 year old daughter. There was live trad music playing - nice touch.
A great way to show locals and visitors alike the living culture of Ireland. Great food besides ... and easy access to road and public bus transport.
