AMAZING! We had my mothers 80th here this evening. They couldn’t be more accommodating letting us set the room up an hour before mum arrived. The food……absolutely awesome! My chicken supreme was out of this world so thank you to the chefs. All 17 of us had a gorgeous meal with bread and garlic bread to start given to us that we didn’t even know about. The waitresses were flat out but still worked hard to look after us extremely well. We helped them clear our plates onto another table near the door to make the their lives easier. Even when we arrived to set up she immediately asked if we wanted a drink. Brilliant! Mum had such a great time and thank you Crown for doing what you did. We all loved it. 10/10
Beautiful pub set in beautiful surroundings. Relaxed atmosphere. Food was amazing and great value for money. Highly recommended.
Wow what a little gem of a country pub/restaurant !!! The food is absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. The pub itself is cosy and welcoming and the staff are friendly attentive and efficient. I will definitely be returning !! Highly recommend coming here.
Wow what a find on a weekend away! Amazing food it was superb and lovely service from great girls A must if in the area
Great service, there were 6 of us for dinner and everything was delivered to our table at the perfect pace. The roast beef was perfectly cooked if you like it slightly pink - as we do. Good sized portions on all plates. Great value for money. Cheers guys!
Absolutely delicious. If you're gluten free this is a dream, there was one main meal, ONE, that wasn't gluten free or able to be made gluten free. For then first time in a very long time, I was spoilt for choice. Service was great, food was fantastic. Will definitely come again!
I love this pub. The atmosphere is great, the food excellent, the staff friendly. In the winter there is a roaring fire and the garden and patio in the sunshine make it a great place to relax with friends. Plus it's totally dog friendly.
We had, sadly, a very disappointing experience here We had high hopes, and had heard very good things, but unfortunately we won't return. The food was excellent, no complaints at all, but the service was abysmal. We were seated for nearly 20 minutes before a server reluctantly came over, after I had made eye contact. She gave a little eye-roll to announce her irritation. Once we had had our mains, there was another delay. A different server came to ask if we wanted pudding, but left without taking our order as we still hadn't had our plates cleared. Another person then cleared our plates, but still no return of a server to take our pudding requests. After another 10 minutes or so, I did politely ask Miss Eye Roll if we could order pudding. She replied, yes I'll be there in a minute. She didn't return. Finally finally yet another server came, and we completed our meal. Such a shame
Very disappointed with the standard of the food. My wife and I ate there last night with another couple and the ribs that my wife and her friend ordered were inedible. It was basically a plate of fat. I ordered a chicken burger, as did my wife's friend's husband, and both were overcooked. I requested no coleslaw, and when the meals arrived neither of us had coleslaw, and when we queried this the waitress said it didn't look very nice so didn't give it either of us. My wife's friend's ribs were not served at the same time as my wife's as they said it had fallen on the floor! They did arrive a couple of minutes later though, so they obviously had more ready to go I hope. The mash was lumpy, and as my wife ordered new potatoes she was served a plate of undercooked green potatoes. As I said the ribs were cold and inedible, and we refused to pay for them. We did pay for the burgers grudgingly, but it is not an experience we will be repeating.
This is a very good country pub, lovely balance of locals having a beer at the bar and people dining. Food is superb, bill was small.Food: 5/5
