Small allotment means getting to know the few neighbours. The earth is quite fertile in most spots but some areas of chalk and some of clay are more difficult. Away from the road is nice but the noise from the nearby great western mainline dominates. The fences could do with being replaced but what can be expected from paying a peppercorn rent?
