Expensive and dirty! Tables and chairs are dated, rusty and falling apart. When complained to management his answer was 'well you only eat off the tops of the table' refused a refund by manager reason 'the foods ok' for what we paid it was not ok to be expected to eat in a dirty establishment.

We visited recently and expected good fish and chips. However, the fish was soggy and flat. The pot of tea was also lukewarm and to add insult to injury we then ordered a hot coffee each and were overcharged for a large cup when they were only medium. Won't be going back as we found much better places to eat since.

Lovely place to eat, the food is great and the staff very friendly except the older lady which I presume is the owner. She is the reason I give 4 and not 5 stars. She took the order without a smile, I asked her for 2 glasses of water and it felt like I asked her to give me her soul. The rest of the staff was fantastic, the guy preparing the food was very friendly and explained everything and helped with any questions I had, one of the waitresses helped my little boy to get more water... (Luckily the older lady wasn't there to scare home this time). The idea with the toy ice cream is great as well, my little ones want to go back there to get another toy. I got the cottage pie and it was fantastic, loads on the plate with plenty of vegetables, same with the soup we also ordered. The kids menu is good as well and comes with the toy ice cream or activity box which is a great idea.

Popped in for a cup of tea and ended up having the best two course meal with my wife we've had in a long time the homecooked steak and kidney pie / cottage pie were fantastic the desserts were just as good .the staff were friendly and helpful and we will diffently return when next in Weymouth.

I had dinner there in August and September on my visit from Nottingham. I'm coming down to Weymouth in October and I know exactly where I'll be heading, yet again. Good honest British food and generous helpings. I defy anyone to leave here hungry. (unless they can provide a medical certificate).
