Popped into the Cricketers this afternoon for some drinks and food and it was fantastic! Staff were very attentive and food was fantastic and they didn’t scrimp on portion sizes either! It all tasted so fresh and very well presented. Great atmosphere and love the new decor! It’s been a great transformation from what it was to what it is now and we will definitely be returning soon!
Came for Sunday roast. Excellent food, good portion sizes and reasonable prices. Too full for dessert but am sure its equally as nice!
Booked at least 3 weeks in advance for a table of 9, table wasn't ready when we got there so we had to put them together ourselves. Then when we ordered food they told us it would be at least an hour wait, and it was longer than that. The camembert starter was nice, but bread was too soft to scoop and only got 4 tiny slices, prawn cocktail was basically a few prawns on a leaf with a dribble of sauce. Nachos were dry and they only had enough sour cream for one of the orders. So we didn't have to pay for nachos or prawn cocktail. However the burgers were so good. Freshly made and so juicy! Would definitely order again if I ever went back and apparently the veggie lasagne was good too. Waitress and barman Harry were lovely, and handled our complaints well. Just thought being booked 3 weeks in advance they would have a table ready and more than 1 chef in the kitchen. Was a disappointing 85th birthday meal for my grandma.
Great food and good prices. The Garden is massive and lovely in the sunshine. Big play area for children and lots of covered seating to avoid the sun if you prefer. Going through lots of updates and changes so definitely worth popping in to see what's new
Food was excellent, staff very helpful & friendly. Large garden with a play area for children. Plenty of parking. Would definitely go there again.
Amazing pub great play area and fantastic food dog friendly too
We had a lovely meal at The Cricketers tonight. There has just been a change in chef and the food was fresh and tasty and the changes on the menu are great, a lovely range of choices on the specials board along side the regular menu that has also had a few changes too. The welcome at The Cricketers is always friendly and they have a good size car park as well as a lovely garden for children to play. There is also outside seating, some of which is under cover and patio heaters if it’s a chillier evening.
Lovely little pub, quiet but it was lunchtime. Good food and good selection of drinks
Sadly not a great a time, the staff were very good cant complain about that. The children's play area needs a lot of work as there is not gate round the back and they can get out into the car park via the little field area at the back which is not safe. The play park is very tired as well. As for the food we both had the beef burger which is was terrible. It really was horrible and tasted like they had a made the beef patty out of minced left over from the day before it almost tastes like Bolognese moulded into the shape of beef burger. The chips were nice though. I thought the food was really poor and am not best happy with it. But can not fault the staff
Absolutely awful meal at The Cricketers today rang ahead to check had roast dinners available on arrival told no pork nothing else was mentioned about items out of stock. Ordered 2 starters which were nice and a children’s meal which they are promoting as £1 Macaroni cheese arrived over cooked pasta that has been pre cooked and microwaved half hard and the other half mushed up no garlic bread served even though what is advertised even my 1 year old wouldn’t touch it. X4 beef roast dinners so over cooked and beef had been re heated so was ridiculously dry. 1 roast potato on each plate and a large lump of dried out mash. Which wasn’t what was in the description . Seasonal vegetables was strips of carrots , celery and onions and not forgetting red peppers this is something I have never experienced in a roast dinner before and will never want again. On placing the roast down we were informed they didn’t have any Yorkshire puddings left so we’re giving the left off greasy batter in a flat shape half burnt. My grandmother ordered a glass of wine when dinner was served it never arrived. I expressed my dissatisfaction where the man apologised and offered to remove 2 main melas from the bill. I gave my meal back without eating any of it 3 other family members did carry on eating as they felt awkward and disappointed that we went out for a meal to then not eat anything. Over half of the meals were left as the food was of such a low quality. My grandmother paid the bill and I saw how much it cost and thought was a little high if what was offered 2 meals to be removed. On questioning the man informed me that he removed one roast and the £1 kids meal apparently thats 2 meals ! I think this is an absolute joke and such poor customer service. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and definitely wouldn’t recommend paying £14.50 for the worst roast dinner ever to be served. Such a shame a lovely location and beautiful garden.
