This was a fantastic pub for drinking, with a quirky design and vibe! The bookshelves and models based on machinery are lovely decorations, counter is well-presented too and the seating is comfortable.Service: 5/5
Worst steak I have ever been served. A third of it was inedible grissel, chips where just warm. No one came and asked how my food was, very poor service and terrible food.Food: 1/5
One of the best Wetherspoons in the Midlands, in my opinion. It used to be a court house, the courtroom and cells are still there. It would be nice to open these for public viewing on Heritage Open Days. The food is nice, the service is quick, and there's plenty of room. They have some great vegetarian options. I would recommend eating here. It's sometimes tricky to find a parking space, perhaps create more spaces by removing the bushes at the corner? This would help to alleviate the issue. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian/Vegan Breakfast and Brunch, Pizzas, meat-free burgers, and more. Parking: A little small but nonetheless free, just remember to put your registration in the tablet on the bar.
Breakfast was great this morning. Staff were helpful and pleasant- 1 helped me with my pushchair and another found my phone that had dropped on the floor. Service on the bar was great too. Thankyou. Visited between 10 and 12Food: 4/5
My favourite Wetherspoons. Always excellent service and a nice atmosphere. Food lovely and as always, great value for money. Visit here often and our daughters love coming here for lunch. You can't beat the Empire State Burger! See you soon.
Had eggs benedict with a side order of mushroom & bacon. only 1 rasher, normally get 2. Perhaps a mistake with the order, possibly due to staff member looking and texting on her phone when taking the order. Had a mocha hot drink which was only 2/3 full and tasted awful. Regular visitor to Whetherspoons @ Blackheath Much better !!
One of the better Wetherspoons around. Previously a Library, and a Courthouse before that going back to 1816, it still carries the themes from those and is well maintained inside. Lovely beer garden too. Usual vast selections of drinks at good prices, and ok pub grub. As expected, gets very busy on the weekend.
The usual wetherspoons experience, this was however just after the lunch rush. The waiter did manage to get around and wipe and clear the tables which is always a bonus, the service at the bar and for food was also prompt. Great effort from the guys on duty.Food: 5/5
Great experience in such a historic place. I was amazed and wondering how come is sustainable to have such a fast and amazing service, great food , massive building at such low rates ?? Truly impressed by the timing I think we ordered a full English breakfast my friend and I with some hot drinks and they brought the food in less than 10 min. Crazy but true !! I loved it . Specially the fried eggs and the bacon are delicious. I went for classical white and perfect toast crunchy and fresh! You may struggle a bit for parking though as there's a space for max 10 cars. Good location not too far from civilization so you can easily get there by public transport. Great place to enjoy with family or your other half.
Lovely place, staff are great and no matter how busy this place gets you never had to wait too long to get served. Great drinks and food choices too!! Never too much trouble either of you need help, high chairs, baby change access etcFood: 5/5
