We’re in Cardiff for a couple of days, touring. Made the mistake of calling here and buying sausage and chips…. WORST I’ve EVER tasted..!! The batter peeled off the sausage as I opened them up and the chips were totally disgusting reheats, -must have been reheated numerous times-and we’re like rubber honest to God. The wee guy behind the counter was very nice and cheery but never again will I call in that place.
Had Chips and a pot of Curry. Worse curry i have ever tasted, i spat it out. Chips wasn't much better. Wont go there again. Not surprised it was empty.
Great chips but it would have been nice if he'd told me the chips would be ready in 15 minutes before he took my money. I had a taxi waiting outside that I had to let go.
Second time this week I've had food to take away, chips were soggy and not cooked properly both times. Kebab meat wasn't cooked and ended up in the bin. The portions are not consistent either bags of chips were small and smaller and kebabs were suppose to be large but was barely anything in there!! EXTREMELY Dissappointing as I had given it the benefit of the doubt after the first failure. Definitely will never go there again. Prices are way too high for what you get too.
Nice big portion sizes and reasonably priced. The chips are everything you expect from a chippy. I'd have liked the fish a bit crisper, but for the cost it's hard to fault. My only issue is that the curry sauce needs a bit more flavour to it.
Lovely clean fish shop with very friendly staff . Cod tasted nice but was over priced . The cod was cooked fresh but wasn't drained afterwards so when we got home the batter stuck to the paper and the fish apart .large portion of chips is not very generous .
Friendly staff, fantastic food. Lost my wallet in there recently and despite one of them not being able to find it when I went in, I popped my head in the door the next day and they had kept it safe for me. Probably my favourite chippy in Canton.
Yesterday I went to my brother we order 3 large fish with chips we ask is it come with any chilli sauce of free one staff said to us nothing is free in this country show us middle finger say only middle finger free in this country. How discusting and rude staff.fish was smelly we couldn't eat 3 throw in bin all fish very bad smell .I think very old fish .oil was look like dirty .we never go back there .very rude staff .
A chippy in Canton high street, Cardiff. I love chippies & have visited most in Cardiff over the last 20yrs. I've had cod from here that's been fresh & delicious one day. But the next it's been flavourless & had the feel/look of being older than it is, ie yesterday's unsold fish reheated & sold to unsuspecting customersyellow flesh inside batter - I personally don't use this shop anymore! Preffering to ride to Plasseys Fish Bar in Penarthbest chippy in South Wales & 100% gluten-free
The best cod & chips money can buy,not too much batter & well worth waiting 7 mins for it to be freshly cooked, can't fault it.
