Set in the heart of the ancient Cinque Port of Rye, The Cobbles Tea Room serve food all day, everyday and a selection of delicious cakes and scones.

Story

Set in the heart of the ancient Cinque Port of Rye,The Cobbles Tea Room was opened in 1953 by two spinsters, Doris and Iris Rouse. They served guests in the front room of their quaint little cottage while their father lived in the back room. The Cobbles has now been in The Benn family for over
12 years and we do our best to run it in the spirit of Doris and Iris - home baked cakes and scones, real coffee, loose leaf tea and a toilet out the back!
The Cobbles Tea Room serve food and afternoon teas all day, everyday.

Visited in 2018 and have the fondest memories of this sticky toffee cake - such a lovely spot to drop in for tea. Wonderful atmosphere, great tea, and fantastic baked goods. That scoop of cream on top of the cake was something else - very rich and very delicious
The cobbles tea room is a lovely find on a litre side street. The service is really friendly and quick and the cream tea selection fresh - the scone was still warm! The COVID measures are reasonable for a small place like this. Outdoor seating is available.
Very clear covid rules. Reasonably priced. Very nice owner. Cake was delicious and had 4 cups of tea out of 1 pot. Happy days

What an experience! The best day of 2020! I had a scone and a pot of tea whilst I sat outside. I was served by a young lady named lily who was very pleasant making my afternoon very enjoyable! The price wasn’t to steep! I left a large tip and will definitely be visiting again!

A very nice tea room. The location is lovely, tucked down a cobbled side street. I had a sandwich, scone and tea set meal, for around £9. The sandwich was ok but the scone and tea just right. Would definitely go again.
A great vibe in this place, perfection for a cream tea. Would definitely recommend visiting. Bernette was our waitress and she did a fantastic job!
Lovely, friendly tea room tucked away. Good selections of teas, served in beautiful crockery. Good range of snacks, sandwiches and toasties. Enjoyed a freshly baked cheese scone but hope to return to try the cream tea. Covid friendly, outside eating areas.
