A place I would recommend to go, there are plenty of biscuits, jam, and olive can choose to eat with cheese. Part of the cheese are from locals and there are goat and cow cheeses, soft and hard ones. People are good to make their own cheese boards. Besides, homemade rye bread, sourdough, and cheese scone are provided. Cheese Scone £2.15 The cheese scone can be one of my favourites that are crispy on the edge and soft with layers inside. Also, it's full of cheesy and spices aroma. Rye bread £5
Used them all the way through the pandemic to deliver hampers to my cheese loving family, which were always well received. Ordered by phone at the weekend & picked this one up in person. Very friendly staff & the selection & quality of cheeses provided were met by huge smiles from my family. A habit I am happy to continue. Great shop and well worth a call and a visit.
Great shop. Had to try the Stonebeck Wensleydale; bought a wedge, and it was excellent! The lady serving very helpful and friendly.
Not sure about anybody else but I found this place very cheesy. Service was very Gouda though. I'm really fondue of the cheese shop, its Grate, I always try visit when I'm in town as I never seem to get Feta-up of their selection, I Curd spend all day here. For a cheese lover I dont think it gets any Cheddar than this as I Camembert to be without a good selection of cheeses in the fridge. If anybody is to disa-Brie they should stop by.. Thank you Dairy much.
Lovely lady serving us and full of knowledge. Lovely selection of cheeses, I was in heaven.
One of the best shops in Chester. Fabulous selection of British and European cheeses to satisfy any discerning palate. Stilton and walnut pate is worth five stars on its own.
An amazing selection of cheese and accompaniments. Asked the staff if they could select 5 different cheese and biscuits for 6 people for a cheese and wine evening , the were more than happy to do this for us, and it was a brilliant selection. Recommend if you are in Chester.
Just returned from this evening’s Cheese for St. David where we enjoyed a selection of artisan Welsh cheeses accompanied by various drinks and most importantly Richard’s wealth of knowledge about the specific cheeses and other general cheese facts. This is my second tasting evening at The Cheese Shop and I’d happily recommend these evenings to anyone who has an interest in eating some very well sourced real cheese. I look forward to attending my next one.
Fantastic variety of really tasty cheeses to satisfy an addict like me! Great value too. Friendly staff. Good online delivery service
Over the past couple of years, this has become one of my favorite shops on the planet. The cheeses here all produced in the UK, apart from a couple of sly Spanish ones who managed to slip past border control. I have a bad habit of being drawn to quirky labels and names when buying wine, often disasterous; not so with cheese! With cheeses going by such monikers as "Ticklemore Goat", "Sheep Rustler" and "Drunken Burt", it's heaven, only no disasters. Shopping here is also a wonderful and delicious way of supporting local producers with small businesses. There is a great selection of produce made with goat, sheep or cows milk, with some vegetarian varieties. The wares here are not limited to cheese; indeed there are lots of wonderful bits for "grazing", from nutty nibbles, crackers and biscuits to wines & oils. Staffed by friendly, knowledgeable people, I highly recommend a visit, which, should you live within a local-ish distance, could become a regular habit. If you think you have to cross the channel for great cheese, this shop will educate you otherwise.
