Well its a Spoons so you know what to expect I guess. Good central location and always pretty busy. Usual Spoons menu and food usually arrives fast. Last visit I sat upstairs and ordered via the app. Food arrived very quickly but as I ordered an ale both my partner and myself has finished food before the drinks arrived. Was told as the ales were downstairs they had to wait for mine to be brought up. 30 minutes to walk a pint up some stairs seemed a long time mind. Moral of the story.... If you want a guest ale sit downstairs
Popped in with my young son, ordered 2 drinks and a portion of nachos. Place was really busy so bit of a wait for the drinks but the staff kept popping over to apologies. Kitchen staff bought the nachos out and apologised again for the wait, can't be helped when they're that busy. Nice sized portion, well presented, plenty of sauces but had clearly been left under the heat lamps during the busy spell as the nachos had basically baked in to one giant, stale crisp that was baked on to the bowl. Great service, price and presentation but the food was a total let down.
It’s a good ‘Spoons. Not much more to be said to be honest. Consistently decent food, but during uni term time it can get packed. I’d advise sitting upstairs in a booth if you can, that’s lovely.
Good vegetarian chilli today but portion sizes could be a little larger. Still good value though
Took over an hour to be served food, but in their defence the kitchen was very short staffed. This seems to only be the case at this particular branch. However, waitress was so apologetic and genuine and I could not have faulted her. Despite the wait, the food was hot and tasty. It wouldn't have been an issue for me but my two young daughters waited patiently for their food to turn up, which isn't ideal when they were hungry. More resources needed at this one I think.
Don’t know what I expected but went in after a weekend watching the rugby in Cardiff. We should’ve gone elsewhere but the staff were pleasant. My wife’s breakfast looked like it had a bite out of it. There were groups of guys still drinking from the night before, which I don’t have a problem with but they were very loud and swearing a lot. We both felt a bit uncomfortable, ate up and left.
Ordered large breakfast received traditional. Beans cold. Toast done on one side Bacon barely cooked. Egg cold.. anyhoo! Did I eat it? yes. Did I complain? No. Didn't have time to, had to get back to work. Would it have made any difference ? Probably not. Will I go again ? Probably yes
Brilliant Fish, chips and peas, served by helpful and friendly staff. Great atmosphere and comfortable seating. Good value meals.
Quite a decent weatherspoons, orders arrive quickly and not too crowded
Staff can’t pour a Guinness, blunt and rude. Ellie couldn’t pour at all shocking. As well as that. Halloumi GRILLED was microwaved plate was warm and the halloumi was all white no coloring at all! Also got a few meals and no cutlery given! Never coming back
