The doctors are really good and helpful, no complaints there.nHowever, not the receptionist, I have had to speak to the reception staff twice, one at the surgery and once over the phone, both very rude.nThe one on the phone, called me following o 111 call I had made. This was on a Friday and she told me to do an e-consult. I said that I needed to be seen today and if I filled in an e-consult I wouldn't get seen till Monday. She argued with me and took a lot of persuading to get an appointment for that Friday.nWhen I went for this appointment, the one at the surgery lied to me and because of this I had to wait an hour to see the doctor I was supposedly have been booked in to see. I was very unwell and when I did eventually get to see the lovely doctor, I was told to go straight to A&E by two doctors. When I got to seen by a specialist doctor at the hospital, I was asked why I had left it so long to get help. Imagine if I had left it till the Monday as suggested by the Cedars receptionist.nSo I avoid going to this surgery and go the the Oaks as I never experienced this with the receptionists there.
Usually I can’t fault the cedars, now called the Swanley Medical Practice, been registered with them for 9 years, but the receptionist this afternoon was awful. I’ve worked as a GP receptionist myself, I know how difficult a job it can be. However, the receptionist I spoke to today has not an ounce of customer service in her. Tutted at me and rolled her eyes because I asked if a duty doctor could look at an urgent prescription that no pharmacies have.nShe couldn’t wait to get back on her phone. Atrocious and gives the surgery a bad name.
Very unhelpful reception staff. I attempted to ask to see a clinician regarding weight loss tablets I had been on and was boldly told “you can’t book to see a nurse on the phone” then told me I would have to call every morning at 8am to get an appointment? So I’m very confused now. You can’t phone and then I have to call every day ?nThe reception staff are really abrupt and unhelpful every time I try to get an appointment. Also I saw a Dr Brian 3 years ago regarding a painful lump on my wrist and was told that he would refer me to Darenth Valley to have it checked. 3 years later and still no word. Obviously I can never get an appointment to be seen about my wrist as they can’t take phone appointments. My partner who worked at The Cedars has to go in and basically beg for me to be seen as The Cedars are a no go for appointments where I am concerned. I am currently searching for an alternative surgery.
Cedars in their wisdom decided they didn't want me on there books after 25 years,ngiving a feeble reason I was out catchment area, just.nnAlso when I phoned them to obtain my NHS number they refused, without asking me for any details to confirm my ID.nnNice one Cedars
Misdiagnosed my little daughters condition by Econsult, Said she had chicken pox but was in fact a allergic reaction so kept her off school for a few days for no reason. Only good thing was they replied via email quickly
