Outstanding food and friendly staff. Children played in the castle next door and we could see them from the pub garden. We ordered 11 meals and all arrived simultaneously after less than 5 minutes. We ate in the pub garden in glorious sunshine. Priceless experience thank you.

Nice old fashioned pub. Friendly, welcoming staff and nice crowd of people in. Menu said 'proper steak and ale pie' and it was right... proper pie which didn't disappoint!

Our party of 4 went for lunch. All our meals were beautifully cooked and well presented. I had a lovely homemade fish pie. Lovely fires burning in the dining room and in the bar. Very welcoming on 1 February, as were all the staff.

Was nice pub but wasn't a massive fan of the burger. Too much onion for my liking but still nice.
