The Castle Bar Hotel is located in the picturesque market square of Bishop Auckland. Close to all town center amenities and the famous Auckland Castle.

Story

We have 10 letting rooms recently refurbished to a high standard, ranging from doubles, twins, single occupancy and Family rooms. All contain comfortable beds with luxurious bed linen, extra pillows and bed side cabinets. All rooms contain tea and coffee making facilities, along with hair dryer and iron & iron board facilities. Bathrooms have both a full size bath and a power shower with fluffy towels and hand towels for each guest. Complimentary toiletries are also included in the room price which are replenished each day.
A full sized wardrobe and clothes hanging facilities are also available in each room with laundering services also available upon request.
Large TV's are wall mounted in each room with free view channels available – Sports and Sky channels are available in the downstairs public bar, along with FREE wifi connection. Please ask for log on details.

Events & Celebrations
We love a party here at The Castle Bar Hotel and we are very good at arranging and hosting them !
We offer our facilities for any event, from Weddings, to Christenings to Birthday parties, funerals or baby shower parties. We have room sizes to cater for 300 down to 20 guests. Accommodation can also be booked at the same time for any traveling guests at reduced rates for your party. Our dedicated events co ordinator Amanda will organise every detail to wow your guests and ensure your party is talked about for years to come. Bespoke menu's and food can be catered for by our team of experienced chefs, from cold buffets, canapes to elegant 4 course meals served to your guests or hot buffet style.
On a grander scale you can hire the whole building for your special occasion and you can kick back, enjoy the party and let us do the rest. We will organise every single detail and your party organiser Amanda will be with you all the way, with one contact right the way through to your event, keeping you up to date at every stage to deliver the best party possible.

Food
We have a varied home cooked menu which changes frequently to reflect the seasons, cooked by our team of talented local chefs. Meals can be pre ordered prior to arrival or ordered on the day and can be eaten in the downstairs bar area or in the upstairs dining restaurant over looking the market square and picturesque town hall. We also offer a full room service which can be enjoyed in your room along with drinks from the bar – simply order at the bar and the food and drinks will be delivered to your room.
We use the freshest local ingredients and a full English cooked breakfast, with juices and cereals included in your room tariff, but please advise if you have any food allergen's and we will try to ensure food is available for your dietary requirements.
We can also provide buffets, canapes, private receptions, wedding banquets etc to your exact requirements, please contact us for more information on these, with a free no obligation estimate. We can work with most budgets and our experienced team of chefs can create a menu specifically for your event. We also offer private dining for anything up to 50 guests or as little as 6 with menu's created specifically for your event.
