We discovered The Canbury Arms today after googling local pubs with great pies. We loved everything about it—the above and beyond kindness of the staff, the unpretentious feel nd the outstanding food. We really felt like the staff were happy we were there and they couldn’t do enough for us. My husband’s chicken and mushroom pie was enormous and he finished every bite, and my vegan dish was the best vegan main I’ve had. Our fried potato skins with Tuscan beans were also great. We can’t wait to go back.

It's usually supposed to be good, but we went too soon after Christmas, and although the food was good,  I think it was an off night.   For example, when ordering, they had just served the last main course I wanted, The first course missed out the additional cheese requested.  Ice cream was a bit boring could have had a wafer or something to jazz it up. And 2 Irish coffees came made stone  cold,  never had cold Irish Coffees before, (think the person was new and in training) but these were  redone and then served Hot as they should have been.  The other things were o.k.,  we had a nice time and it was generally nice food, And we would go again.

Amazingly friendly staffs! We ordered the lunch specials with: apple& mutton spiced soup and aged shorthorn beef pot pie. The crunchy crust and its tender beef...this is the pie you will die for, especially in the freezing winter time.  Highly recommended!
Also, the dining environment is very family friendly. Small stairs for children to use the sink in the toilet.

Good food.  Varied menu.  Have been several times. Very friendly staff.  Nice ambience.

Nice enough pub with a gastro feel about the place. Drinks are a bit expensive. In the summer the outside seating during the day is very much a yummy mummy kind of place. Attentive, friendly staff.
