Great local for drinks and food! Popped down on a lazy Sunday evening, for a nice bit of food. We were welcomed and seated relatively quickly, staff were friendly and helpful. We had quite a wait for food, it was quite busy in the restaurant, but worth it. Plenty of choice on the menu, always hot, fresh and tasty. I look forward to warmer weekends to sit outside, to enjoy drinks and try other things on the menu.
I haven't been here for 30 years. It's changed a lot. All for the better I might say. Staff are very pleasant, the interior is more modern, I only popped in for a light snack as I was with my grandson. So what we had was ok. I will be going back to try the main menu though very soon.
Some more up to date feedback... Just been to the Bramley cottage for my mother in law's birthday. The food today was amazing.. beautiful light batter on the quality pieces of haddock... The mixed grill was perfectly cooked. My chicken and Portobello mushroom pie was sooo tasty, rich sauce and crispy pastry Aidan was fantastic throughout, a great choice for front of house hospitality.. With a Cheerful friendly demeanor and a great approach for service to his customers, Aidan enhanced the whole meal experience for us... Thank you My final shout out goes to Kam... He brought our the food and drinks cleared the tables and made sure all the tables were kept clear and cleaned.. another great ambassador working hard to ensure the reputation of the Ember inn's brand. Well done guys.... Very pleased --------previous feedback ---------- We have just been to the Bramley Cottage for Sunday dinner. We spotted it on the way to dalish bakes to sort out our wedding cake and called in on the way back. The servers Carly and Ella were very welcoming and gave a fantastic service Everywhere was very clean and well presented. The roaring open fire made the whole dining area feel very cosy. Now to the food... Exceptional !! My dinner was cooked to perfection, the meats were tender, flavoursome and parsnips were some of the best I've tasted.... It came out of the kitchen in a very short time considering it was a Sunday. The cutlery photo was spotless and bright... The little condiments platter was a really good touch. These little extra touches show the level of detail the staff go to in order to give the customers an all round pleasing experience. This venue is 22 miles from my home but after this superb eating experience we will be returning here for my soon to be mother in laws birthday in April. Well worth the drive out This Ember inn's is a real credit to the management and staff that have clearly worked so hard to make a really pleasurable place to eat. I would highly recommend.
7 of us visited for the prosecco bottomless brunch. It was £20 which included a meal and endless prosecco. I think it runs from 1100 to 1400. Food was very good and the staff were very efficient at noticing when we needed topping up. Great value and would definitely recommend
WOW!!! Absolutely delicious food here. We've never tasted anything so delicious EVER. Hats off to the chef whoever you are, you are amazing!!!
Nice food and staff. Lost a star as the app hasn't worked the last few times I've been and it's a right pain having to go to the bar to order on my own with a child when the app takes all the frustration away. Especially when deciding whether to have pudding or not and I haven't bothered ordering a pudding last time as it meant taking away my child from enjoying their lunch and to wait at the bar to place an order. Only a small thing but if you have an app and instructions on to order at the table...make your app work please as you might actually get a pudding order from me next time.
I booked a table for 4 people online on a Thursday evening. Good so far as I prefer booking online. We arrived to a pub that looked busy and indeed was when we got inside. Unfortunately there were not enough staff on. There was one poor lad behind the bar and probably 20 + customers waiting. We sat at our table, finding it only because my name was on it. The girl who appeared to be staffing the restaurant yes, there appeared to be one girl for the whole restaurant did not approach us at all and it was only when my husband asked if we got table service that we were told to use the app to order food and drink. We scanned the QR code but the WiFi/coverage is so bad in The Bramley that we could not get any signal and therefore were not able to order that way. This, along with the apparent low staff numbers, caused us to up and leave and go to another restaurant in the area. From this review you may be thinking it doesn't sound that bad but it was! When we go to a restaurant, we expect decent service as a basic but we did not receive this. We felt sorry for the staff that we did see as it is not their fault. The management need to increase the staff numbers. We haven't been to The Bramley since before lockdown and booked hoping to support local businesses but will probably not go again for another 3 years!
I used to visit the Bramley Cottage a lot when I first moved to the area 8 years ago. It's a lovely place, great staff, clean, welcoming, plenty of parking space & spacious grounds. Unfortunately my Sunday roast didn't tick any boxes for me.... I dislike leaving negative posts but with what it costs to dine out these days, we're entitled to quality service. My dinner was, basically, bland & tasteless...My knife could barely cut through my beef but to be fair the cutlery could do with replacing as my own looked like it couldn't cut through fresh air! I had one slice of turkey, one slice of beef a small spoonful of veg & 3 half cut potatoes, which were hard! The only reason I ate my food was because I was starving & I'd taken my family out for a treat... My bill was just under £70 which I'd struggled to find.... Like I said earlier, I don't like slating a local business but for what I paid & what I received has put me off dining there again. As a place to sit down for a drink & socialising I'd thoroughly recommend the place....
I can't actually tell you what the food was like as I didn't wait to find out. My one * is for service only. I booked a table for 12 noon for myself and two grandchildren. I was ignored by a waitress when I arrived, she went out into the back. I was seated by another lady after standing around for a few minutes. No-one told me it was service at the bar. I had to ask why I was waiting so long after being shown a table. I left after this. Was really unimpressed as expected to at least be treated with courtesy and not ignored.
Me & my husband visited here 13.01.23, I have to say my meal was lovely I had the halloumi burger. However my husband had the surf & turf, his steak was very very gristle. He did tell the waiter to which he replied "sorry" no offer for another or refund we left disappointed!
