I know many people like to put down wetherspoons but it is what it is cheap and cheerful drink and food. It serves it's purpose, where else can you and a pint of ale for £1.79-£1.99? And reasonable food and a drink for £10. The breakfasts and curries are good for the price, and this particular pub has a fairly nice setting especially in winter with open fire. It's also open late. Bingo nights seem very popular but my only complaint is they should keep an area open for non bingo players and area like the hizzy room for non bingo players. Wish they had a better range on spirits and ales/beers like they use to.
Professional and patient staff, very helpful and polite. The food was great and the service was quick. Pleasant decor, and atmosphere with private areas. Nice experience. In the Hawick town centre. Very welcome, reasonably priced place to relax and get a cuppa before exploring the town.
Great atmosphere and helpful employees. The food is very reasonably priced, but the menu is huge and the quality suffers a bit. However I would definitely come again for the desert alone.
Very nice and spacious Wetherspoons pub. Nice staff, food was good at great prices. Enjoyed a Haggis and cheese Panini. Comfortable and clean place. Enjoyed the visit.
Can only speak about our own experience on Christmas and Boxing daysnIn the lovely Border town visiting for a couple of daysnAlthough the pub was only open for a few hours on Christmas day it was a pleasure to drop in for a visit and have a couple of drinksnNot overally busy but nice atmosphere due to the majority of customers being off duty members of staff celebrating ChristmasnBoxing day was very much busier with family groups eating and drinkingnKitchen staff kept very busy and coped very well bar staff friendly, efficient and cheerful.nTables cleared quickly with the assistance of management who made the time to chat with the customers.nWe say a big THANK YOU to management and staff for making our visit to the Town and the pub a pleasant pleasurable couple of days.nOn our departure on the 27th it was good to see that the money was well spent on the flood defences with the rivers in full spatenStrong winds with torrential rain could not dampen our spirits as we left Hawick on our way up to Edinburgh.
