Today we went to Chichester Marina and after a stroll we found the Boat House Café. It is such a lovely place very tastefully decorated and furnished. A conservatory and beautiful outside area additional to the great inside. We originally wanted just coffee but couldn't resist the fish finger sandwiches!!! Wow they were the very best. Homemade battered fish fingers in lovely bread. Wonderful. The staff were friendly polite and welcoming. Very efficient and had it running like clockwork. Families and dogs are welcome. Excellent customer service and food.... brilliant. Definitely would go again . Thank you.
This cafe is surrounded by a large area of natural beauty for long walks and is in the middle of Chichester Harbour. Large space with quite a lot of seating. Service was a bit poor. Food was not bad but also not great except my gorgeous fish finger sandwich that was excellent I ordered fried chips to go with it, needless to say they were deep orange colour. Would be good to change the oil from time to time. free parking on site will be going back and would recommend.
This is a great place to stop off when on a walk around Chichester Marina and the local area. Pick up a takeaway coffee or stay for longer and enjoy something off the lovely main menu. With ample seating inside, but particularly outside, for views acress water on a sunny day watching the boats, birds or just people.
I witnessed the manageress deal with a very obnoxious customer. She and her team were managing with a smile despite where others would not have coped. Well done! #respect. BTW, the trout and dark chocolate tart from the new menu were delicious.
Such a shame a perfect location yet the staff are cold mannered, inexperienced and unattentive to the customers. I watched as many tables complained of waiting too long to be served or their orders taken, staff stood aimlessly looking out of the window whilst customers waited for service. when my food eventually came out it looked lovely yet was very under seasoned, bland and cold in the middle like it had been reheated not cooked fresh. I am sure with a fresh injection of younger more interested, trained buoyant staff the boathouse could return to its former glory.
Fantastic place to grab some lunch or an early evening snack. Above normal level of cafe or pub food, the level here is a little higher. Nice decor inside and lots of places to sit outside with stunning views. Super friendly staff even when mad busy the lunchtime we visited.. we will return!
Nice place but over priced I'd say. Always happy to pay for quality but it didn't make it for me. "Full breakfast" I had off the menu £12.50, did not come with coffee or tea also I had to order beans separately, not much of a full breakfast. Very loud inside.... Overall it's ok but nothing to get excited about.
We stopped for a bite to eat as part of our day out along the Chichester canal walk. We found the staff helpful and all seemed clean and tidy. The food was good and certainly a place I'd recommend going for lunch. Vegetarian options: Good to see some nice vegetarian and vegan options.
Nice enough friendly staff, ate outside due to caninine companion. Not the warmest evening but when requested the patio heater turned on, was advised 'not working' - not acceptable for an establishment that certainly knows how to charge. Food was nice enough but £8 for a Fish Finger sandwich ! Fries extra
Lovely location, food was quite good but overpriced. The junior staff were trying really hard but clearly inexperienced and lacking any leadership. We have eaten here on three occasions recently and the management on each occasion were at best abrupt but actually quite rude and unpleasant. We had for example to have our starters served with our mains! Apparently too busy and yet there were more than 8 tabled not filled. We booked and agreed a table on the terrace in advance but were sent outside as no table was available. It's a shame, but the place needs a rethink and a shakeup. Not sure who is writing all the positive reviews.
