I really enjoyed my night away from home. The room was clean and very well equipped with hairdryer, ironing board, iron, kettle and television. I slept really well as the bed was very comfortable. I liked the mix of the traditional high beams and contemporary styling. The decor in the restaurant area was an eclectic mix of old and new quirky styling which I found inviting. I was made to feel very welcome. I really appreciated the lift to collect my car the following morning as I had left it at the wedding reception, meaning I was able to save money on a cab fare. The Inn is located in beautiful countryside, I just wish I'd had time to explore the area. I would highly recommend this venue.
Love love love this place. me and my partner had the best time her and are right now planning our next trip. The room was beautfiul and spacious and looked out on to an amazing view of the countryside. The pub was lovely and the staff so kind. I do have one little thing to say my breakfast was a little soggy as my holandaise sauce had split but the chef did re open the kitchen for us so we could have a late breakfast so not really a big deal. All in all a very lovely place to stay.
The setting is really nice, rooms open out on to the garden, thick walls mean you can’t hear outside noice. Unfortunately on our stay, the food from the restaurant was poor, barely warm, My room had a lot of damp and mildew, the table legs on my side table were so loose that it’s at risk of collapse, The bar which closes at 6pm Sunday’s had a private impromptu party, didn’t bother me too much but a member of the group had dogs with them in the pub who came along ate my dogs dinner and constantly bared teeth. My biggest concern was a room above us was left open all night after the guests left, an then when we checked out there was no staff and we where also told just leave the key in the doors, Leaving us at risk if anyone strayed along and ventured in. Our rooms were also not cleaned or refreshed during our stay, no extra supplies, clean towels, made bed It may sound like a lot of negative things have been said but what’s important is I did have a good sleep, the setting is peaceful.
Clean rooms, but new owners finding their feet so needs to settle in and finish the long overdue maintenance from the previous owners. Nicely refurbed bar and will be a great place to stay in a year or so.
We chose Black Boys Inn as a place to stay for our 2 night stay whilst attending Windsor Dog show. I enjoy old buildings and due to being 16th centenary it appealed to me and my travelling companions for character. Everyone was very friendly especially Henery, who was very helpful and chatty. A relax atmosphere making Our stay with the dogs deal. We stayed in room 1standard room and room 2superior on arrival the rooms were clean and cosy. There were a few downside to our stay one being the mold In both rooms. Maybe some tanking could resolve this issueAnd being unable to hang clothes In room 2, due to the smell of the damp in the closet. The console table also in room 2 was very unstable and unsafe. Room 2 had a chair that was so heavy it was a mission to move it. The only difference with the rooms were a larger bathroom in room 2 , this could do with a new toilet seat as it was broken, and a Tassimo coffee machine with pods for a completely different machine. I did mention this when asking for some more coffee and was brought some coffee granules. Also larger cups wouldn't go a miss either. The price for both rooms were high considering what was on offer and we also found the food prices high. The pub does close on a Sunday at 6.30 which we were only informed of Sunday afternoon on our return from the show. Wi-Fi was not accessible in the rooms. Even with these issues we enjoyed our stay, I'm sure the owners are working on the issues of the mold being raised by so many people. Including upgrading the furniture.
A colleague stayed here. I joined them during breakfast and the staff were accomodating and friendly. The rooms certainly were in need of some TLC, but the bar and dining were good.
Stopped for some well needed grub after a long day at Legoland to find a lovely little pub ran by a really welcoming couple who served the best Lamb shank I have ever tasted. Family and pet friendly serving some truely fantastic food.
Bar very small. Waiting time of 10 minutes when restaurant was pretty much empty. Waiter was a temporary person he informed us. Food was good but did Groupon deal.
Used to be a lovely old, traditional, English pub with good wholesome English food. Now it's just another poncy restaurant with accommodation attached. Nothing like a real pub. :-
We came for dinner on a Friday or Saturday last month. The place was empty; the service was okay but the fish was off 2 of our party of four had to send it back; the staff were arguing in the kitchen; the music was on one minute and off the next; the decor was boring and had no character. Sadly, very unimpressed.
