Story

The Birdcage nightclub is in the heart of Manchester city centre! Part of Manchester Arndale and across from the Printworks, the Birdcage has been home to the most entertaining nights and parties since it opened in November 2006.
Our Vegas style shows are performed throughout the night every Saturday featuring flamboyant drag artist, elegant showgirls and sexy male & female dancers. Every half hour, fast paced shows keep the night upbeat and entertaining! We'll bring you the best of the 80's, 90's and now, with outrageously funny Drag Dj's playing all the classic songs we know you love to dance to.

On Wednesday nights, Voodoo Wednesday take over The Birdcage with some of the UK’s best DJ talent comes together to provide 5 hours of absolute party music in one of the city’s most iconic venues. For any information about Voodoo Wednesdays, please visit their Facebook Page.

As soon as we stepped into the room without sounding cliche it was electric, everyone who I spoke to at the bar and the bar staff were very pleasant. Drinks were a fair price for what you get. There was a guy dancing around everybody dressed up as a sailor, at first I wasn't sure if he worked there or was just having a good time because there were plenty of people just dancing with everybody turned out that he did work there Every time I crossed the room someone would grab my hand and start dancing with me, just a feel good vibe from everyone there, I felt right at home. The drag acts were wonderful, they seem to enjoy it as much as the audience. The music between acts was cheesy but the kind of cheese that everybody loves. Just make sure you get a blue wristband if you are going for a smoke, oh yes and keep your shoes on I got told off So if you want a place with a good vibe, good music and good people definitely give it a go.
Arrived as part of a hen party. The room was full of hen parties and birthday celebrations so definitely the right place to be. The drag cabaret was entertaining, but only on for short bursts at a time, inbetween which the audience can get up and dance. The show ended without a real ending. Music is cheesy and songs are hit and miss with the crowd. Drinks are about £5 each.
I absolutely loved my night out here. After not being well enough to go out for year's, this was my first night out and it was spectacular!! Looking forward to going back really soon!! The act's were tremendous, fun and super talented.
Amazing acts and beautiful venue however when I pay £130 for my friends to have a nice time in the VIP lounge and get told to sit down I'll be honest it disgusted me. .. It is apparently a venue for people to have a good time and never again will I waste my money to be told off for having fun. .....an absolute disgrace.... The worst VIP I've experienced. Don't waste your money
Brilliant for hen do's. Had a few nights here, but ended up moving on elsewhere after a couple of hours. Not the cheapest place as there is entry fee and drinks are fairly expensive compared to other places, but the entertainment is brilliant. Suitable for hens or more mature groups of friends wanting a great laugh, not for young students wanting cheap booze,
Saturday night. Went here on a stag night. Had to argue with security to let us in. When we got inside the venue was empty save for about 4 other people. We left after ten minutes and a warning from security for being 'too rowdy'. Fine, keep your quiet empty expensive club. There are better places nearby that are not empty and half as expensive.
I went for a friends 40th and after being told by so many people that it was amazing my aspirations were high and maybe thats why i didnt really feel that it was that great. I found the acts slightly boring and you weren't allowed to dance or stand when the acts came on slightly forced to watch. But good venue for others, i personally wouldn't go again.
More stringent checks than the airport, pay for entry yeah fine, but pay for a band to be allowed outside to smoke are you kidding me?!?! You’re the birdcage not the peppermint rhino. I’ve been to clubs in Paris, Milan, Amsterdam but this is the first time I’ve paid to go for a smoke. ‘Unique Nightclub Experience’ you’re not kidding, but not for the right reasons. Sub standard club for over the top prices.
From when I first started going the place has fully gone down hill. Seen a girl throw up and carry on walking. Boys are literally like they're hunting girls down. Staff are rude and the place is over priced and over rated. I had a friend cry from a recent bereavement where the photographer than hounded us for a group photo after a lot of no's we were forced into fake smiles.
An excellent night out if you're looking for cheesy dance music and a friendly atmosphere. It's full of hen dos and the drag acts are a good laugh. Only downside are expensive drinks you kind of expect that and a really weird smell inside... Other than that would highly recommend!
