We had such a lovely evening here! The atmosphere was great — really warm, cosy and inviting. The staff were all so friendly and smiley, which made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived.nnThe food was delicious and really good value for money. Everything came out hot, fresh and beautifully presented. The surroundings are gorgeous too — snug, comfortable and perfect for a relaxed meal or drink.nnWould definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back!

Lovely location next to the river with large garden featuring several picnic benches, a terrace, and indoor seating. Good value. Clean with a nice decor. Polite service team operate swiftly. Excellent playlist full of 80s anthems. The mezzanine shakes when walked on and vibrates when a fan i guess its a kitchen fan but could be something else is running, if you're sat on the main thoroughfare you will notice this. Would visit again.

Three of us had a great meal at The Big Lock, the food was good, service was excellent, atmosphere just right and its next to the canal giving it an nice relaxing feel outside and a great view inside. We've been there a few times since moving into the area and will be back again soon. If you live in the area and haven't been then give it a try, if you are visiting the area then drop in. As well as the restaurant there's the nice cafe overlooking the canal.nBeen back several times for a delicious sausage barm, a bacon barm and tea on a Sunday after taking the dog for a walk.

Big lock café was open for breakfast and brunch, there's plenty of indoor and outdoor tables over looking the canal it was perfectly cooked breakfast and the service was great and friendly.

Cracking canalside pub. Lots of different places to sit both inside and out. You can sit and watch the canal boat's go up and down the lock. Lovely decor and friendly welcoming staff. Sunday roast was amazing, cocktails were great too. Dog friendly also.
