Heading home tomorrow from the caravan park that the Bent Peg is situated on, had called in for drinks but not eaten until tonight’s roast. Amazing! We both had the beef, plenty of meat and veg, it was delicious, my husband somehow found room for pudding and the sticky toffee pudding was recommended as being “legendary” …, he agrees, it was really busy so a lot of locals most have this as their go to for a roast so would recommend booking a table, must get really busy in high season
A lovely location which offers a warm welcome.nGreat lounge area with ample tables to eat at, there is also outdoor seating, weather allowing.nA varied menu which has some creative dishes, many of which are available for vegetarians.nExcellent & friendly service, coupled with good prices, well worth a visit.
We stayed at the campsite over the Easter weekend and didn't really have any expectations of eating out with two very young children but we had the loveliest meal here. We felt so welcomed to come in which with young children sometimes not the case they were so accomodating towards us and felt a very friendly atmosphere. The service was very good, we felt looked after and they were attentive that we had everything we needed for us and the children too. The food was really yummy, we both had the brisket and was such a huge portion!, we'd really recommend it here :
The Bent Peg went out of their way to fit 10 of us in for a late Sunday lunch on the same morning we made contact.nWe had no idea what to expect.nMy goodness it turned out to be a superb find. The food was excellent, tasty and so delicious, with very generous portions. The staff were amazing, friendly and very obliging.nSuch a great find.nThank you so very much.
Having a place for a great Sunday roast from between midday and 7pm in rural North Devon is fabulous. The `Bent Peg is situated on a touring park and campsite yet the bar and eating area is closer to a traditional pub in terms of atmosphere and layout. The bar has a large range of spirits and the prices are very competitive, I challenged the bill on the cost of a round of drinks for 9 as it seemed too cheap yet it was correct! The Sunday roast was very good and lots of it, they bring you extra potatoes, veg & jugs of gravy if you need more. You can opt for 2 or 3 courses that are fairly priced with a choice for 4-5 options or just have the single course plated roast, this is not a carvery thankfully! Our group had starters, plated roasts and desserts and all enjoyed what they had........empty plates and bowls all round and full bellies!
