My partner and I have had many very enjoyable nights in Benson's Bar. Paul, one of the managers and the staff are very friendly and when you take the time to get to know them they have a banter with you. When you are a regular its a bit like Cheers for friendliness for those who remember Cheers. It also has a great hall at the back for a wedding or birthday evening occasion. We go regularly for fish and chips on Friday which is free with a drink. You can sit on the sofa and read the latest papers or chat with staff at the bar.
Good food. Very reasonably priced. Nice ambience with a relaxing comfortable feel in a period building. Staff are always welcoming and nice. Food always cooked Fresh and tasty. The sausages are to die for. Will be sad when it closes in two weeks.
Great cuppa and friendly chap behind the ramp. Menu looked good and the decor was interesting. I'll go back.
Terrible. Deep fried roast potatoes, over worked microwave, over worked staff,. One of those places, you walk in and everyone looks at you as if you have broken into their house and farted, No thanks will not go back
Sadly closed now.
