Choose another payment processor for your business. The definition of how NOT to provide customer service/support. The leadership for customer experience/support/service should be heavily scrutinized for the lack of accountability and abhorrent non-industry standard practices. Zero customer support or service. Inquiries and issues go weeks without a response. No phone support offered.
Incorrect credit card fees since we began using them with our online portal. Horrible response - lack of communication. I was given a 1099k for PERSONALLY instead of the company I work for which will now cause issues with my own tax return. Have been trying to get a response since. Due to this, will not seek to renew use of portal. Completely lost our business. WILL NOT RECOMMEND.
I was approached by Braintree staff as they wanted my credit card business. My company is a world renowned rare coin dealer that has been in business since 1964 and are members of nearly every prestigious organization in our industry. I tell you all this as after several weeks of giving them records and having my IT talk with them, their underwriting rejected us! I had to ask twice over several more weeks why. I was finally told they rejected us as we are in the coin business and they reject everyone in our industry automatically. This is incredibly insulting as my company is not a pawn shop! We have some of the biggest billionaire clients in the world and have an amazing reputation. Braintree is obviously just a corporation that cares nothing for its clients and treats them like a number without ever doing their homework of whom they are rejecting. Quite sad and if you deal with them know they care nothing about you as a vendor. So disappointed in the waste of time time over a decision made by someone who knows nothing. I will make sure everyone we know in our industry and else ware knows what type of company this is.
If you are cool with zero tech support, having your money in limbo somewhere and no one responding, then use Braintree. Otherwise run for your life. This is a terrible company to rely on. They list a number for Tech Support that just tells you they don't do phone tech support. If you think I am exaggerating, read their Facebook page. Right now it appears we have a four day delay per email response and the first email response was useless. So we had to pull them as the gateway while we try to figure out where our money is and why the gateway took money, but didn't deposit it or alert us via the connected PayPal business account. Avoid at all costs. I am pulling all my clients who signed up off of Braintree as a precaution based on the ongoing lack of support or even capacity to read a ticket and help in the first response.
I would not recommend this payment processor for your business. I had an account in good standing with them for a few years. However, once our business picked up I have an online computer store they decided that it is for some reason too risky for them and closed our account by giving only a few days notice. I only had 2 chargebacks with them in the beginning a few years ago. No other issues at all.
Beware: Absolute crooks. It is all super simple to set up your payment gateway but after that ..... whole different story. Cumulatively it has been 25 hours I spent on the phone with them for the past 6 months and it was never a problem on my side. I was always told that "it's because of a procedure"... Holding your money hostage . NEVER use their services.

PLEASE AVOID COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! They declined our process after allowing us to process transactions and orders, and are holding our money. They gave completely unlawful and rubbish reasoning's one after another of why we cannot pass their "application" I highly suggest staying away of this company. I heard they close companies accounts half way for no reason and hold money for MONTHS!!
As a tiny online Merchant working with Braintree, we were profoundly disappointed when this company did nothing to help us after we got scammed for several thousand dollars in merchandise. We filed an online response to the disputed charge but never got a response and then Braintree claimed they never received it and that everything expires after 7 days. In 2016, Braintree did help us resolve a dispute, but misled us into thinking that they had helped us upgrade our security protocols. Only after the 2019 scam did agents show us vital steps which could have helped us recognize the recent scam and prevent it. Here is a corporation making billions every year and it cannot help tiny companies like ours when we get hit for a few thousand dollars. Really sad.
