Skate, Lamb, Haddock, Burger, King prawns, Duck breast, take your pick, they are all delicious. The specials board provides a variety that keeps you returning day after day. Note that it's closed on Monday evening and you do need to book because it's popular with locals. Thank you for great food and extremely friendly service. Dog friendly.
Had a fabulous lunch with friends at the Bell Inn. We had booked in advance as there was eight of us. We were greeted, and swiftly shown to our table in the front room. Specials Menu was on a board on the wall. We chose and ordered our meals and drinks. The service was good, I chose the Roast Turkey with all the trimmings, millionaires shortbread, and a diet coke. The food was delicious and plentiful, the service was friendly and helpful. Thank you all for a wonderful Lunch!
Our return to The Bell after a long absence due to Covid and health issues was a great success. We were welcomed and settled in the snug which was roomy and airy, perfect for our first inside dining experience for a while. As usual, service was friendly and efficient and our choices from the specials board lived up to our many previous visits. A really great lunch! Thank you Sarah and everyone at The Bell for understanding our needs. So glad to be back and will definitely soon be booking again.
Lovely young mam greeted us he was very attentive. Food is outstanding but make sure you have an empty stomach as portion size is very generous. Lovely atmosphere warm and inviting. Can't rate it highly enough.
Excellent service and the food was wonderful. We were a group of 5 adults and 4 children 10, 8, 7, 6 We were in the Snug. Highly recommended as the children played outside where we could see them until the meals arrived. Perfect!
Just eaten tonight here. Amazing five stars. Best food had for long time and great service. Definately be going back. Lovely atmosphere and setting
Having not been here since the mid 1990’s I returned to find that the food was just as delicious as it was all those years ago. Service is bright and friendly and efficient! Food selection is second to none, and fairly priced no rip-offs here! The Bell, has a good local feel to it, and a friendly atmosphere, good for little ones too with a large garden and toys and games to keep them entertained! If you happen to be in the Thanet area take a detour into St Nicholas At Wade! The name St Nicholas at Wade refers to a village located in the county of Kent, England. The history of the name is closely tied to its historical and geographical significances. The village's name combines two elements: 'St Nicholas' and 'at Wade.' St Nicholas is a reference to the patron saint of the village, Saint Nicholas of Myra, a popular saint revered for his generosity and kindness. The village, like many other places in England and beyond, was named after him to honor his legacy. The second part of the name, 'at Wade,' is believed to have originated from the Old English term 'wade,' meaning a ford or crossing place. This suggests that the village was likely situated near a crossing point of a river, allowing people to ford it rather than requiring a bridge. Over time, this ford became associated with the village and was included in its name. In terms of historical significance, St Nicholas at Wade has an interesting past. The village can trace its roots back to the Anglo-Saxon period, with evidence of settlements in the area dating back to at least the 7th century. The Domesday Book of 1086 also mentions the village, indicating its existence during the Norman Conquest. Throughout its history, St Nicholas at Wade was an agricultural community, with farming being a significant part of the local economy. The village also had ties to the nearby monastic community of Christ Church, Canterbury. Today, St Nicholas at Wade maintains its rural charm and is known for its picturesque countryside and heritage buildings. It continues to be a small, tight-knit community that attracts visitors with its historical appeal and peaceful atmosphere.
The Bell Inn is our favourite pub in the area. We use the bar area with our dog. It has a lovely cosy atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. The food is excellent, and we have never been disappointed with any meal. It is our 'must go to' pub!...
