Offering an amazing Sunday lunch and breakfast, this hotel is large and busy but lovely. Our room was clean, spacious and modern, offering everything we needed for our overnight stay. We did the fire and ice experience which I would highly recommend, as the main pool and sunbeds area was quite busy when we were there as it was the main holidays. Food & drinks: The food we had was first class. Drinks are a bit expensive but the cocktails are good.
Nice to find somewhere that lives up to its reputation. Rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. We ate in both the main restaurant and Sam’s Bar and both were excellent, great to have a choice between fine dining and a sports bar where the burgers are excellent. Breakfast also very good. Busy bar over the weekend with live music on. Spa was excellent, clean and easy to access. Played golf a couple of times during our stay and the courses were excellent and very challenging, the staff were always brilliant friendly and helpful, especially the starters and the team in the pro shop. Overall, great trip.
I don’t like golf, so no idea how I ended up booking this, but I think I seem to have booked to stay here for business at the end of the masters tournament; Sir Nick Faldo was in residence. Hotel was very busy and there was a great atmosphere. Plenty of parking and very easy to access from the motorway. Had to wait quite some time before I was seen and heard at reception. The restaurant was very busy so I ate at the bar. This was also very loud and busy, which isn’t a bad thing, but not great if you’re staying there for business and need to do some work. The bar staff were great and I really enjoyed the food. I didn’t rate the room very much. I stay in lots of places and you can find a good room which has a higher quality finish with more attention to detail for the same price; perhaps inflated because of the nature of the venue. There is also lots of building work taking place on the site, so very early in the morning, the trucks and diggers, start to move. I stayed in room 1408 and I think there is a service door outside the window, so there was lots of noise during the night that woke me up. It was okay, but I don’t think I’d stay there again for solo business unless I started to love golf.
The experience was good. We were celebrating my birthday and my boyfriend arranged a surprise, payed for a bottle of champagne which was good and something else that the hotel would put in the room. When we got in the room, the surprise was simple 1 balloon saying "Congrats". I used to work in a hotel and this experience was poor. The rest was okay, lovely staff, a good variety for the buffet dinner and breakfast. We went to the spa, it was lovely too. The hotel is great, just the surprise was definitely below the expectation.
The breakfast is actually pretty decent. The scrambled eggs weren't dry, the poached eggs were runny and everything was served hot. The shower in our room was lovely and the room was a good size. For almost £200 a night, you'd think they'd include AC in the rooms and not just the main parts of the building. They did state that the room had a fan however, the fan we had had not been cleaned possibly since purchase so the filters were clogged beyond functional so our fan came with a high scream and it was stuck on maximum because we didn't have a remote to turn it down. We notified reception of this when we went to bed and they brought up a desk fan to replace it for the night and sent an engineer in the morning.
The location is convenient, with ample parking available and the establishment is well-maintained. It is certainly advantageous for golf enthusiasts, yet it remains an excellent hotel choice for those who do not partake in the sport. The staff is friendly, and the overall service provided is commendable.Rooms: 5/5
The rooms were not cleaned well. Found bottles and champagne corks under sofa. Our stay included evening meal , same buffet for the whole three. nights.Found a piece of old bread in my main course , wondered if it had been presented somewhere in something before. lunch I ordered Chicken Massala from the golf bar and found just three cubes of chicken and sauce. I complained to waitress and she said it is how it is made! the main welcome bar in the foyer looked lovely but we had to go to the bar and order and leave a card. No waitress service. They cut money where ever they could paying 5pounds for cheap flip flops necessary for the spar treatment, no water offered in the spa area. There was a machine where you could get a bottle. Husband says it was exactly the same on the golf course. Hidden costs. Not worth the money. Cheap service. Disappointing considering its wonderful and historic past.
We had a good time staying at The Belfry, the team were friendly and welcoming. John directed us in the car park and again was very helpful offering to bring our bags to the room, thank you John. We had a lovely lunch in Sam's bar, sandwiches with fries and the food was served promptly and nicely presented, Although it was busy we felt the team were relaxed and professional, we certainly did not feel as if we needed to hurry. We paid for the Fire and Ice experience which I would highly recommend. It was fun and the sauna rooms were great, the ice caused some shrieks but our skin felt lovely afterwards so it was worth the shock. Min was welcoming and took the time to explain what to expect, thank you Min. Drinks at the bar were expensive so be prepared, we only had one drink as we couldn't justify the cost. Breakfast was well cooked and again we were welcomed and looked after by the skilled team members offering good customer service. The only negative comment was a used ear bud in our wardrobe, we notified reception and asked for the housekeeping team to be notified so other guests do not experience this. Despite this we will return in the future.
Attended a function dressed in smart casual and asked the front desk where to go for the ****** event, was directed outside on the other side of the facility to a black tie event? When I returned I pointed this out and it was clear the person behind the desk clearly wasn't listening or even looking at my attire....Service: 2/5
Fab. Very clean. Staff very friendly ad welcoming. Free activities pack for my young Grandson.Lovely comfortable room. Swimming pool and changing rooms were spotless. Breakfast buffet was perfect. Hot and plentiful. Parking was difficult though. Rooms: The room was a good size. Beds very comfortable. All the little extras were there too. Well thought out. Patio doors leading to a large wraparound balcony. Plenty of hot water. Finding the room is a bit tricky though. Lots of identical corridors - like a maze. Nearby activities: Drayton Manor with Thomas Land only a mile or so away. Excellent day out for children/family.
