Played here for first time after several days of rain and course was still good. Bunkers need some work but everywhere else was better than expected. The team were great - friendly and approachable, very happy to help. Appreciated - the welcome makes all the difference!
Played here yesterday. What a shame. Poor course maintenance resulting in greens so slow you could hardly putt on them. All bunkers GUR, presumably so they don't have to look after them. Nice clubhouse and gym but course is now poor. Loved it here as a kid. Hopefully someone will start taking an interest again and save it. I wouldn't return based on yesterday.
This is such a lovely place. Went for a friend's wedding. The staff where amazing. So very helpful. They made the event run so smoothly and worked so hard. Outside seating. Plenty parking. Bar Food Highly recommend if you are looking for function room with dance floor
We played yesterday Thursday 1st August and were really impressed. Firstly, the staff and the management were excellent and welcoming. The course was in great condition we were met by yet another lovely member of staff whilst on the 2nd to explain that the bunkers are 'the next plan'. The course isn't easy, but whilst we didn't always use the fairways, there were very few golf balls lost. Greens were consistent after a storm they were slow and none of us were good on them and some annoyingly tricky in a good way. Anyway...we finished the round...all loved it, then had a very pleasant hour and a half maybe enjoying a drink.or two whilst watching better players navigate hole 9 and 18.....oh to be any good! Big shout out to.all the staff and green keepers who are clearly on top form. Shout out to Adam Irvine who was great after I contacted him with an enquiry. Don't drive past Pypey. Cracking knock.....few tough holes an all, but great fun! Thanks DQ
Thank you so much to Adam Irvine for being so attentive & helpful in the planning of my daughters surprise 21st birthday party. I can’t thank him & the staff enough for ensuring everything was perfect on the night.
Booked the venue for my mom’s 90th birthday party. From start to finish the service from Adam initially and then his team on the day was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. Communication was spot on and emails were answered straight away, every query ahead of the day was dealt with. On the day the staff had set up the room and it looked amazing, they were polite and helpful answering questions without hesitation. Food was absolutely gorgeous, they even catered separately for 2 guests with dietary needs, and the venue itself is lovely, with the outside seating area coming in really handy as the day was hot. DJ recommended by the venue was also excellent, as my mom was 90 his playlist covered all her 1940’s and 50’s favourites. Every guest commented on the food, the venue and the staff, a great time was had by all. Would definitely book here again. Thanks Adam and Team
Worst condition ever. All bunkers GUR, greens uncut and like fairways length, slow would be an understatement. Breakfast for a society was garbage and they charge full price for a tee time. This course has gone back the same condition as when the council run it. Stay away.
Went as a group, the greens were rough, the fairway grass had been cut and left so couldn't find a few balls due to the grass cuttings being left. The sprinkler on the 9th green came on as we were playing onto it, not to mention it was 90% brown and not green. Overall felt a bit ripped off for what it turned out to be. There are better municipal courses out there better valufir money and better kept. Sorry will definitely not be back.
Played Pype Hayes today must congratulate the green staff for presenting a wonderful course. After all the bad weather we have had to get it to this condition is marvellous. Well done Ben and team.
Nice course with some great long holes. Greens were in a reasonably good condition. Nice bar with a reasonable selection of drinks and beverages. It does get busy so try to keep up the play. Only issue was a member of public was exercising her dog on the course - I found that a bit distracting. Plenty of car park space.
