First visit to this heritage railway. Went to see C&R No 419 which normally based in Scotland. Wasn't disappointed. Facilities here are a bit limited especially at Market Bosworth Station but if you like railways there's enough to see to make up for it.Visited onPublic holidayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
We visited the Rails and Ales event for the weekend. Good time! Lots to see. Great evening entertainment from Dr Busker.
Battlefield line. OK but looks a little run Down. Cost £50 for two adults and a 3 and 4 year old on a January steam gala. Worth a visit but needs a tidy up. Good food service on the train.
Excellent! Well worth a visit. Excellent value for money. Ran by volunteers. The tea shop at Market Bosworth station is a must to visit friendly people who couldn't do enough for us & free refill on pot of tea! We will definitely be back!
It's got 5 miles of track, run by volunteers. 50 years this weekend, Gauge 1 running in the goods shed at Market Bosworth from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st, theres a Manor class & a Hall Class & lots more to see the weather will be better than this week 1
We have visited the line many times, usually with visiting friends. This visit was our first for a year or so. It is an attraction that brings home history and the way we lived many years ago and shows the importance of rural transport. Its a fun place to visit whether your into railways or not. Lovely countryside with many places to visit traveling by train for a good day out.
The line runs from Shackerstone to Shenton via Mk,Bosworth. There is a cafe and a museum at Shackerstone, at Shenton there is a cafe, glass blowing and a pottery, it's also on the battle field walk which passes the station.
We broke our train journey here and we were pleased that we did! For anyone interested in old trains there is plenty to see. From the old station yard we could see a fascinating line of derelict diesel shunters in a siding. Friendly, welcoming staff were explaining that the new station buffet is soon going to be housed in two carriages. This rural station is obviously a "job in progress".
Went for the ale and steam event Rail and Ale. Huge choice of beers and music courtesy of The Anker Morris Men
Station at the edge of the village on a restored heritage steam line. Lovely volunteer staff on the platform along with tea and cake. Well worth a stop off.
