Lunch starts at 11:30, and breakfast stops that time. Very popular both weekdays and weekend. If course to sit anywhere except indoor main area, you must pay before getting food. Inside you order and pay after! Toilets are basic and outdoors. Prices higher than usual, but food does arrive together. Provided a jug of water with ice, perfect for a hot day.
A lovely little farm cafe, right next to a nice farm shop, that is set back from the main road which makes you feel like you are in a more remote location. The cafe is a fantastic place to bring the family and relax. There is a lovely playground with swings, slides and a ride on digger. Staff were friendly, professional and polite. Service could have been a little faster but I guess that could be blamed on fussy customers in front of me. Price is a little steep with two cream teas coming to around £10+ the scones are big and you don't get a lot of jam and cream to spread. But all in all I left here with positive experience and will be back.
As usual, very good food and atmosphere. Service is friendly and our waitress remembered my wife not eating on a previous visit and was concerned for her. Nice touch. Parking: Parking can be tricky sometimes due to large cars parking poorly.
I have just been to Calcott thank ypu to rhe friendly very helpful team. Lucy served us today.Thank you for your kindness and great ideas and telling us about the menu. Parking: I plenty of parking
Very busy cafe, so it was a little bit noisy for a good chat. But service was quick, staff were friendly and polite. Food was amazing.Food: 5/5
So disappointing. Cold coffees and terrible, slow service. The breakfast wraps were over powered with cheese. The bacon was barely cooked despite asking for it to be well done.Food: 1/5
The food has always been lovely at the Barnyard Cafe, and the staff are friendly and polite. Highly recommend a visit - even though I selfishly don't want it to get too popular!! It has a lovely relaxed country cafe atmosphere. Perfect for mums after the school drop off, or for an informal business meeting. If you go, it is worth then going to the farm shop Calcott Hall Farm as you can find some fresh fruit and veg, our favourite butcher, a good cheese counter and a fresh fish counter.
My partner and I went here for the first time today for lunch and frankly it was quite dissapointing. I ordered a hot chocolate and a sweet chilli chicken wrap which was freezing cold chicken with the wrap itself being warm meaning the chicken was probably just taken out of the fridge and placed on a wrap that was warmed, which was really dissapointing and I had to ask for it be warmed up. The hot chocolate was good and cant complain about that. My partner got a brie and sundried tomatoe and pesto panini which was really good, the sandwich tasted amazing and clearly it had quqlity ingredients. Unfortunately thr cappucino served to my parnet was probably one of the worst ive tasted, not only did it tasted watery but the beans were clearly burned, the lady doing them seemed really young so perhaps she was inexperienced, paying £3 for this type of cappucino is a rip off though. The service was not great, it was busy inside however it took 15 minutes to get our tap waters that were left waiting in the bar for someone to pick up. The lady that took our orders didnt even let us finish ordering as we wanted to order a milkshake aswell and she just rushed off our table when we had just mentioned our food. Once we caught up to her again and asked for a milkshake she said they were no longer doing it cause it was too busy and took too long to do.... thats the first time ive heard someoje refusing to sell a product they have in stock... when she came back with the cutlery she also chucked it on our table, not placed or put it next to us, she chucked it... all in all theres potential in terms of food, they need some tweeks on some of there products though, the service needs massive training in all sorts of ways as there was massive disorganisation and they seemed like headless chickens forgot to add someone came to take our order after another waitress had already taken it which shows the level of disorganisation. Not sure if I would return but with the right training perhaps this could improve for future customers.
Unfortunately we arrived a touch too late for lunch but had lovely coffee and cakes. The environment is classy and chilled, with sufficient staff levels to ensure nobody waits.
This is the perfect place for breakfast. Great choice of food which is always hot and flavoursome. Really good coffee too. Plus its right next door to a fabulous farm shop. Win/WinFood: 4/5
