Stopped off on the way back from Polesden Lacey to London. Ate two roast chicken baps with 2 pint sized soft drinks. Absolute bargain lunch at 19 quid for the lot - especially as portion size was ginormous and the chicken was excellent quality! Landlady was on her own and super busy but incredibly friendly and welcoming. Service was excellent.
Nice, homely pub. Best food I've had from a pub in a long time. We had a toddler with us who was also made very welcome, by staff and by customers
What a great find. Staff were very welcoming.nThe Sunday Roast was excellent, good quality ingredients and beautifully cooked. A good sized portion for £16 a head. Definitely value for money. Locals just kept coming in so a good atmosphere with banter. Nice sunny garden at the front of the pub. Would highly recommend.
A great village pub with friendly staff and regulars. The outside space is superb on a sunny day, come with friends or come on your own and you will be made to feel very welcome. The best pub in Bookham!nnEdit 2024: Change of ownership and change of direction for this pub, moving to a more foody pub during the day. Weekday foods okay at the moment, assume they are just finding their feet.nnThe Sunday Roast however....is the best in the area. The whole roast in a giant Yorkie covers all bases and deserves the upgrade to 4 stars
A good traditional village pub with great value tasty food. My daughter and I opted for the 4 for £25 bar nibbles which were much more than nibbles! of spicy chicken wings, white bait, scampi bites and pigs in blankets. We paid the £2.50 extra for chunky chips and a side salad with dressing. The staff were very helpful and chatty. Children are now welcomed and there was use of a high chair for my grand daughter. It was a bit quiet but it is a cosy little pub.
