The Acton Park

Story

Acton is a local government community, the lowest tier of local government, part of the Wrexham County Borough in Wales. It lies in the north-eastern part of the market town of Wrexham. The area is largely residential and at its centre, lies Acton Park, the location of the former Acton Hall.History, GeographyActon was originally one of the townships of the parish of Wrexham (in 1886, the township was transferred to the new ecclesiastical parish of Rhosddu). Under the civil administration, the civil parish of Acton, based on the old township's boundaries, was part of the Wrexham Rural District, but was abolished in 1935 and parts were transferred to the civil parishes of Bieston and Wrexham Regis. All the latter structures were abolished under the terms of the Local Government Act 1972.In 1985, a Boundary Commission review led to the creation of four new community areas within Wrexham itself, Acton, Rhosddu, Offa, and Caia Park, each of which would have their own community council. The community of Acton covers approximately 3.34km2 and comprises the electoral divisions (wards) of Acton (Acton Central & Acton Park), Borras Park, Little Acton, Maesydre and Rhosnesni. The southernmost tip of the community area is on the corner of Chester Street and Charles Street in the town centre, and is bounded by Chester Road to the west, Holt Road to the south-east and the Llanypwll link road (A5156) to the north-east. At the 2001 census, it was the most populous community in the county borough with 12,960 people in 5,412 households.

I had my baby shower last week here it was amazing , staff were great always around to help .Also, the food was great too. Thank you for making my day so fantastic. Thank acton pub xxx
Listen carefully , I’ve eaten at the best places in the country I should be a food critic I’ve been everywhere . I have an outstanding taste for food and ingredients and know when it’s 10/10 or not . We stopped here on our way to Snowdon with the family. I had a steak sirloin. Two days later and I still dream about it !! The single best steak I’ve ever eaten in my life . I’m actually annoyed we stopped here because going to miller and carter from now on is going to be a disappointment! Absolutely outstanding. I would wait two hours for my food if I had to . The pizzas were amazing best taste ever .
This was our first visit. We were helped immensely by a man behind the bar as we had a dining out card and were unsure how to use it. He informed us it was easiest to order from the bar with the card. This was true, no hassle, just plain sailing.nAmbience was great, service great, but the food was fantastic!nI would definitely recommend the lasagne!
Good food and good service, vegetarian rainbow lasagne meal was lovely very impressed, makes a change from the usual vegetarian meals on offer in other establishments.the other meals we had were very good also apart from the sausage and mash which was a very meagre portion.
My family and me go to the Acton often as it is our local pub. The atmosphere there with the regulars and staff is amazing.nThis was my third year I was Santa there for Christmas and all I can say is that it’s amazing the work Sarah McDowall puts into making this happen too. Totally selfless in what she does to ensure that breakfast with Santa happens at the Acton pub, she really does deserve praise for this alone.nI’d also like to say that it’s great to have Steve the new manger there, he’s been a breath of fresh air as a manger.nCan’t say enough about all the staff too very welcoming, a great place to have a meal and a drink with the family there.nA nice heart warming place to go.
