today a member of staff wouldn’t let me purchase some cold tablets, I’m ill as well is my little brother, because I have broken leg that is in a metal frame and I’m currently on crutches, because off of a motorbike crash travelling back to an army camp. So now knowing the full picture the member of staff at the self checkout tills wouldt serve me because my little brother who is 16 doesn’t have id but because of my injury’s I need help carrying things but her excuse for not letting me purchase some medicine is that a it’s not about my leg thats broken it’s about the id and she took it off us and refused to serve us after trying to reason with her and understand she was coming from she got more frustrated and rude towards us so we decided to leave empty handed. I don’t wish no harm towards the women but it felt upsetting feeling that she was so heartless about our situation and what we have to do just to simply buy some medicine.
Saw double cream on the shelf that was 2 days out of date, makes there stock rotation seem abit uncared for. It felt more like a tesco express than a superstore. With very few options around, you feel forced into visiting this store. But they could do much better.
Staff and security continually follow us around which is very uncomfortable. Had the same situation a few years back and stopped using this tesco but tried again recently to find it was the same situation. I'm not sure what makes myself and my 3 yr old son 'people to watch' but I've never received this kind of service elsewhere. I won't be returning.
Clean, good quality fruit and veg and fresh bread. Friendly staff and no queues. Good parking
Given the choice of supermarkets in the Calder Valley, this is your best bet. Tesco at King Cross or Asda at Pellon are always, consistently awful. I stopped using Asda because its just horrible This Tesco is never too busy and is well stocked. Staff are great, parking is easy, there's no fast food delivery drivers blocking the entrance and it's overall, a much nicer experience.
