It is an acceptable shop. Handy for parking. Toilets are generally appalling which is particularly shocking for a huge corporate behemoth like Tescos. Staff appear relaxed, efficient and friendly. Product range is what you might expect but lacks a decent 'world foods' section. Packaging on own brand 'everyday' goods is sub-standard. 'Reduced' aisle is generally poor in terms of quantity and pricing. Best time is around 19.00.

I shopped at the Beverley Tesco. It is relatively large and has a good range of groceries and some department store items. The adjacent carpark is large. There are toilets, and a cafe serving breakfast, lunch and snacks. I sometimes sat there using my laptop or writing in my paper notebook. The site was a cattle market before Tesco built their store. They apparently ignored regulations and local authorities allowed them to build anyway.

I have used Tesco in Beverley for over seven years now and although it's never been the most friendly of stores it always had a few very good friendly staff that I gravitated to. However I called in today to purchase a few things and went to the self service checkout, after paying for the items I waited for my change only to be told by the machine assistance was needed. I waited for said assistance and waited, eventually someone came, no apology, no how can I help, nothing at all was spoken. After much fumbling about another staff member came to her assistance, again nothing verbally was passed, amazing, was I invisible? The cash box inside the self service checkout was taken out, replaced not once but twice and still no verbal communication. So after almost ten minutes of this I just said to the staff member "please could I just take my five pound and go" I was looked at as if I had just crawled from under a rock, amazing. So sorry to put you out Tesco, but this lever of service is just not acceptable and you don't deserve my custom anymore.
