As far as supermarkets go in the area, this is the biggest by far. Whatever you want, quick fast food, slow cooked food, party food or Netflix food these guys have got it and loads more. There's kitchen utensils, toys, phone accessories, gift cards, flowers for first dates and a pharmacy. They've got the usual fruits and veggies, chicken, beef, pork, lamb and food for vegetarians. There's a sushi bar also for all you oriental fans. Parking is fine, but gets busy on the weekend. I shop after 7pm as you pretty much get the place to yourself and you're not dodging slow shoppers. Tesco is way bigger than the local Lidl, M&S or Waitrose in Sidmouth, basically a one stop shop for everything. There's a decent selection of gluten free items to keep the coeliacs happy too. Plenty of disabled parking and recharge stations for the EV's while you shop.
On holiday in Devon cliffs. We normally get are food on the camp. But the prices are ridiculous. So we goggle search and found this Tesco store was 7 minutes away from the camp. Got to say, one of the nicest Tesco I’ve been to. Plenty of parking. Pharmacy in store. Saved a few bob on prices. And very friendly staff.
Great shop, great staff. However, why, in these modern times, is one member of staff expected to collect all the trollies unaided? Surely there is an electric gadget to assist in this process ? I for one wouldn't want that job, my back would be put out in a week ! It's difficult enough when we get that one trolley with a twitching wheel that seems to be having a breakdown of its own, let alone having to push a whole bunch of them.
Well 3 tills working , queuing up each Isle, self service only takes cards !!!nI would say that the amount of people using the tills with a cashier should tell you that most prefer tills to self service but managers didn't bother to open more tills !!!nWaiting 25 to 30 mins to get served reminds me why I don't usually bother shopping anymore in Tesco and why il not be nothing again .nOthers said the same that they will shop elsewhere.nDisgusting
I went into this Tesco when visiting this part of Devon and found the staff friendly and helpful. It is a modern Tesco well stocked with fresh produce and all of the things we have come to expect from the retailer including a good range of ready meals. This is important when you are away on holiday and staying in self-catering accommodation. The car park is large and has ample room, and although the Tesco store was busy when I was there, there was plenty of room to park. The Tesco itself is easy to find being on one of the main roads in and out of Exmouth.
