Large Tesco Extra, but this one has really seen better days. It's dark and dingy upstairs, which gives the impression of being dirty. It could really do with some TLC. It stocks the things you expect from a Tesco Extra store. Good choice of food, and drink downstairs. Upstairs, there is F&F clothing, which the presentation is messy and unappealing. It's difficult to lactate and find what you want. There is also a Tesco Mobile concession and a good selection of homeware and kitchen electrical. Outside the main building, there is also a Tesco Petrol Station. Overall, this store is tired, dark upstairs and is in need of a refit.
Absolute shambles.... only 4 tills open, as all others are now self serving tills. Queue was ridiculous. I will not use self service. What are Tesco thinking!!! Everyone I spoke to felt the same.... I like being served by a human being not a robot.... I feel so sorry for the staff, they're all so helpful and friendly. I really hope no one has had their hours reduced or lost their job because of this stupid money saving idea.....Come on Tesco, judging by the queues, people are not happy with the change. Most of the self service tills were empty
Started the weekly shop as normal today. Only 4 checkouts staffed. They have introduced larger self service ones. No instructions on what to do and how to work it. We scanned our shopping then found out only 4 items had been scanned. So unpacked it all and stared again, the poor staff were running around trying to help several people at once. Lucky for Tesco that the staff were so good. Several customers just refused to use them and would rather queue up and wait to be served than go over this badly installed practice. The screen in too low and there needs to be some simple instructions for us the poor customer. As normal not a manager insight. Very poorly done. Thank you to both staff for working so hard to help us. Next week going to Morrisons
Need a quid for the troĺĺey. Always long a que at the tilĺ. Take a sleeping bag if you want a till with a human to serve you. You'll pay a lot extra if you like privacy and don't have a clubcard. Without any doubt, the worst store this side of the equator, and gets worse every week. How does the management manage to lower substandard week in and week out? They should pen the definitive 'how not to' idiots guide to retail. Been a Tesco shopper for years and years but no longer. Trying Morrisons in St Ives next week. Tried Morrisons. Unsurprisingly, it's a better store. Butchers section is rather good, and the meat is definitely packaged better. Much less plastic and it does now fit in the freezer now without having to use more plastic freezer bags.
Good selection of food & drink. Always have what I need in stock, however the last 2 visits I've had to leave and not actually buy anything due to the store smelling like sewage, and making me feel unwell.
Total confusion at the Huntingdon store as all checkout are card only, serving yourself through checkout which also requires assistance at various stages not being lift bags on to trolly when is full. No prior information was passed to customers to let you know of this. It was three times longer to get through. Total confusion, is this progress? Will not be shopping in Tesco.
I can find most of what I'm looking for here. However, they do run out of stuff sometimes. Sunday afternoons are the busiest. Best to avoid the store if possible. Online shopping often results in at least one item being out of stock, usually at least one tin of food is dented, and fruit or veg is hit and miss. Short dates and bruised fruit. All of the produce I wouldn't have selected if I was in the store. In short, shopping in the store is pretty good but, online shopping continually results in receiving the food I would have avoided. Bonus: They have loads of parent/child parking space available.
Brilliant place for shopping and we are both disabled and staff working here very very helpful. Very clean place, clean toilets and parking spaces are close to Entrance. Brilliant though out thank you
I dropped my toastie in the restaurant today and they put another one on without even asking me. Although my fault they were prepared to do this foc. I did pay. Well done restaurant staff. Lovely people and Tesco you should be proud of this team
This really more or less a fairly regular branch of Tesco Extra. Nothing really stands out about it to me other than any other branch of Tesco of this size. It sells pretty much anything for day-to-day living, there's Max Spielman, Vision Express, Harris and Hoole, plus Timpson on site. Additionally there is Tesco mobile upstairs. The only thing they no longer sell is adult shoes. They sell slippers, but not shoes don't ask me why. Oh, garage and electric charging points on site. Staff were helpful when I visited.
