This is the biggest Tesco I’ve ever been to! After coming back home from York, we really didn’t feel like doing shopping later, so we decided to stop here – and it was a great choice.nnA huge, two-level Tesco with an impressive selection of products. The store is extremely well stocked, everything is neatly organised and very clean. Shopping here was genuinely a pleasure.nnThe staff were absolutely lovely – friendly, helpful and welcoming. Nothing but positive things to say about this place. Highly recommended!
our first port of call for our york trip was this big tesco!! we needed to get a few bits in. i liked that it was two storeys. was delighted to see a clothes section, i got a few nice pairs of trousers as i didn’t pack many with me. i can’t believe there is still a tesco cafe here! wow! many of our favourite items were on clubcard prices, such as the gluten free blondie bakes and snackajacks. you can tell we’re in yorkshire, as the yorkshire tea shelves had been practically ransacked! lovely staff on self scan today who assisted us by taking the tags off our clothes once purchased. unfortunately we missed the holland & barrett today as we got here past its closing time.
1 star as I psychically cannot give zero!nnThis chain of Tesco Extra is abysmal. I was looking forward to my well deserved tesco meal deal after 10 hours of extreme labouring at work. I selected a divine chicken chaser salad and saw the box reading “please take a fork” was empty. As it was early afternoon, I assumed they had all been taken from lunchtime rush hour. I politely asked 2 workers if there were any other forks. The first worker, seemed dopey and lacking customer service training. The second worker, claimed they “do not do forks.” I was unpleasantly distressed after being mislead, resulting in me spending £1.65 on wooden forks. Will be sticking to waitrose next time. Disgusting. x
Still no fitting rooms open, which for a store with such a large clothing selection seems like the most basic level of service that should be provided. You also can't return clothes unless the customer service desk is open which it isn't for a large portion of their opening hours. They should have fitting rooms and a dedicated till upstairs for clothing in my opinion.
Really impressive Tesco, we are visiting from out of town and couldn't believe the amount of other Arcadia shops like Dorothy Perkins and Evans conveniently available inside. Everything seemed really well stocked and tidy. We didn't get a chance to try Scan and Shop but it seemed like everyone was at it. Really great petrol prices nearby for travelers.
