This store is nice. It's quite big for a express. I've noticed the reviews on here wasn't good especially towards staff members. I find the staff here very good. Always working hard. You obviously have customers who are absolutely clueless and make the shopping experience a lot longer than usual and when staff help them they tend to 'bark' at them. Sometimes staff are to busy and very overwhelmed with work. I find the night staff quiet amusing when I come after 11. Always jolly and helpful. How they deal with the idiots that come in is also a plus. They make sure the other customers are not in any danger and deal with them swiftly and keep business going. Shame police don't help with what's happening in the UK now. Anyways, this tesco is good. There are very helpful staff. Guess some customers don't have patience and understanding towards retail workers anymore. I really like Maria and Mark. The guard on Saturday morning is also very friendly. Night team as well. I always thank them when leaving and they always say have a good night or thank you too.
I arrived at the Tesco Borough branch at 11:54PM, and upon reaching the front door, I encountered two of your colleagues, one of whom identified himself as Russell, claiming to be the supervisor. When I explained that I only needed to buy cigarettes, he informed me that the store was closed. I inquired if he could authorize a purchase at the self-service checkout, to which he responded that even the self-service machines were closed. When I questioned why the store closed early, he stated that they close whenever there are no customers, regardless of the closing time.
Disgusting treatment from security man just now and one staff member. Accused me of stealing from the self service check out cos i did 2 transactions. One for me then removed from the weighted bagging part after i paid, and one for work. Wouldn't give me his name. Embarrassed me in a shop full of people. And not an ounce of an apology. I'll be emailing head office too. Edit: Still no response from Tesco. After more than 9 months.
A decent Tesco shop. Safe and secured with guard and cameras watching you all the time. Self billing is available which is quite easy and fast. Ordinary rates i was a tourist
The rudest member of staff I have ever come across! I was having an issue with my till and a member of staff came over and should “read the screen”. He then continued to be incredibly rude and even got into an argument with the security guard on shift at the time telling him to go back to where he should be standing. I asked for the Manager to which he replied “I am the Manager”, which was a complete fabrication. The deputy Manager eventually came out and he continued being incredibly rude and aggressive, to which she apologised several times. The security guard was also very apologetic. The member of staff was a short, bald guy and I have no idea what his issue was but he shouldn’t be working in a customer facing role. His attitude was awful. When I asked him about it he said “what do you want me to do, apologise!”. I am still baffled as to what I did to enrage him this much, completely unprovoked. Tesco dealt with it awfully too
Great to pick up something on the way to or back from the tube. Convenient to where I was staying. Hassle free and helpful staff. Security was always friendly. Treat them well, they'll treat you in kind.
This Tesco used to be amazing. Since all the staff changed, including the new manager, it’s gone straight down hill. They refuse to sell cigarettes or scratch cards after a certain time because the manager “is downstairs counting or cashing up.” There’s a new young boy working there, ginger hair..got a face like a smacked ar*e, miserable as sun and has absolutely no product knowledge whatsoever and instead of asking a colleague for help, he just says “its not in stock” or “we don’t have that” when in fact it is. Absolutely useless. The only happy and nice person with brains working there, is the security guard! Train your staff, give them a review or sack them. Disgraceful customer service. I’ll take my custom across the road, to Sainsbury’s.
Really miserable, overweight grey-haired man working as a cashier/staff member. It could be the guy called Mark that a previous review is referring to. He is in a really bad mood all the time and today left several customers in the shop with his negative energy and rude words! This shops needs to review this guy - he is so unfriendly and needs to step away from this job and sort himself out.
DO NOT BUY GIFT CARD IN THIS STORE!!!!!!! Very bad! I have purchased a cinema gift card from this store and in the final result I am left with the gift card with no credit that is a present to a family member and also accused of lying. if you decide to purchase gift card here please check your receipt and gift card numbers before you leave, otherwise you will loose your money. Whoever is enjoying my £25 worth of cinema - hope you choose a good movie at least!
Lying and deceitful staff. Visited to buy a salad pot which had a yellow circular special offer sticker of £1.50 on it with £2.00 crossed out. The shelf ticket still had the old price of £2.00. On taking it to the self service till I was charged £2 instead of the £1.50. I raised the issue with the lady serving on the self service at the time and also the security guard who was there. The store was not very busy and they both went back to the shelf and came back saying that all the others didn't have the reduced sticker on just the one I chose. The lady even had the audacity to accuse me of sticking the sticker on the salad pot myself! She said I should just pay the £2. I protested however and she eventually called her supervisor over. The lady and the security guard told the supervisor that all of the other salad pots didn't have a reduced sticker and that the only one that did was the one I picked up. I decided to go with the supervisor back to the shelf to double check and to ALL of the salad pots had the same yellow reduced stickers on! Even the different mixes of salad pots had them! It was clearly their error! The supervisor reluctantly sold me the product for the £1.50 at the till but I was horrified at how two members of staff could lie to my face and actually accuse ME of bringing in my own home-printed pricing stickers sabotage Tesco stock! Absolutely disgusting service!
