We visit because this place is local and convenient, generally have essentials in stock but my god is this place Dirty, absolutely filthy from front to back.nnAisles difficult to maneuver at the best of times as they are narrow but ridiculous when the staff are stocking up, night or day cages will be left out with stock on.nnLastly the staff, rarely have i met a happy staff member, countless times I've had to move out the way for stock cages without so much as an excuse me, on one occasion a young man with glasses rushed down the Isle towards me and my daughter, we side stepped out the way and he didn't even have the courtesy to say thank you.nn*updated review after a refit. In November 2023. Added new photos.nnThe tesco reopened in late Oct. It had been closed for approx. A month. It had originally opened with a high standard, although the store didn't look any different to before. It was very clean and tidy to begin with. I've attached new photos after one month of reopening, and i am disgusted at the state of this store. You see the same staff as before, little to no customer service, and the store is increasingly getting dirtier.nn*update June 2025.nStill in horrific state of cleanlines. New photo attached. They store isn't cleaned on a weekly basis, never mind daily.
Considering it's a small shop they have a good range of products. The staff are always friendly. Plenty of parking too.
Returning from holiday, we popped in to buy milk. The time was exactly 11:53pm.nGranted it was late, but still 7 minutes before the clearly advertised closing time of midnight.nWhen I attempted to enter the store, an employee of Tesco stepped in front of me, stopping me in my tracks and bluntly pronounced ‘We’re shut’!nnI checked my watch, as we’d just returned from holiday, thinking perhaps my watch was wrong, and said ‘But you’re supposed to be open to the public till 12, I just need some milk’.nnThe Employee no name badge - and reluctantly gave me his name would not budge.nnI was polite throughout the brief discussion, and explained that I thought his actions were awkward and not helpful.
I agree with the other reviews re untidiness I tidy up and close fridge doors as I walk round, cleanliness and staff attitude. I would also comment on the state of the forecourt: litter everywhere and blue plastic gloves blowing down the road in the wind.
I was miserable before I went in hear. The staff made me look cheerful. Faces that could turn the milk off.
