Avoid this place... unless you are desperate to waste roughly 10 quid per head on 10 mins spent in a creepy living room looking at reproduction statues and 1970s documentary footage. Shocking.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Uhhh... It's OK. Bit underwhelming, must say. Pretty good visuals, facts printed on paper you can search on wiki. Pretty decent models, though. Enjoyed the long video, although outdated and the room being a bit scruffy. Quite bland, but simple. Aesthetic? It's good if you get it in the deal with the other museums. I suggest going to the teddy bear museum, its just way better in my opinion.
Not a big place but worth a visit
Very interesting and informative. I think they should look into a deal to incorporate the teddy bear museum as a joint price because they are not the biggest museum's I have ever been in
I think this is a great little museum that the owner has put a lot of effort in to include some really great displays, along with plenty of reading material it certainly brings the subject to life. The offer of visiting several places under one ticket price helps to increase the value. We visited on the last day of our holiday, and intend to re-visit all the museums on a cool/wet day.
Found out about this museum from a flyer at my hotel. This Museum is located on the a main street close to pay and display car parking and various restaurants etc. It is open daily from 10am until 5pm and it's wheelchair accessible. Enterance fees are as follows. Adults £ 6.50 children £ 4.50 under 5's Free. You can book online or pay at the door whatever takes your fancy They also have a saver pass which gives you entry into the Teddy Bear Museum, Tutankhamun Exhibition. Mummies Exhibition as well as this one. This ticket is valid for 7 days Good size gift shop and a very interesting days visit in my opinion. The staff were very friendly and helpful during my visit.
I have always wanted to visit the Terra Cotta Warriors in China. However at the moment that is not possible and I think this just might be the best next thing. Very informative little Museum that gave us a chance to see up close what these amazing creations would be like. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A great little place to see. I certainly recommend should be look at the Warriors or just what to know a little more about the history of other cultures.
A fantastic amount of information, if you are interested in history then this is the place for you. But don't take little ones if you really want to absorb the history unless they love history too. Definitely recommend
Small but I've always wanted to visit China and see the Terracotta army. The museum doesn't claim all the exhibits are original. The video was really interesting and made the exhibits a little more understandable.I visited Maiden Castle as well today and the Roman House in the centre of Dorchester. To be fair the entrance fee to the museum is overpriced for what there is but i was curious.08.2019.
Nice little Museum we'll put together very informative good film friendly staff a bit pricey though advised that you buy a online multi Museum ticket
