Delicious three course gluten free Christmas dinner. Very attentive staff and attention to detail. They even brought me a separate gluten free shortbread portion after the meal.
First impressions were excellent - scenery is nice, beautiful, well decorated buildings with really calming music playing throughout. I visited with my mum and we were booked for a botanical bathing experience, overnight stay, dinner and full use of the spa. The spa area was small and quiet but this isn't necessarily a bad thing! The facilities were relaxing and well kept, just as you'd expect. Could use some more signage with regards to how to use facilities and recommendations. The bathing experience was pleasant and private although it doesn't have the best view of the lake. We were offered a salt to add which we chose but the therapist added approx. 2 spoonfuls which didn't seem to do much. The experience was good but seats became uncomfortable after a while.nOur room looked excellent, the bed was super comfy. The room included nice amenities such as wifi, smart TV, coffee machine and Dyson hairdryer. Although the impression of the room declined relatively quickly. The shower was VERY slippy - could use a bath mat or some grips. Conditioner was empty. The shower included 2 heads, one which was not screwed on properly and sprayed everywhere. The other was half broken and also sprayed everywhere. Not the best experience. The mini fridge was not turned on? So all the drinks were room temperature. The TV was initially not working but staff were excellent and resolved this within 10 minutes. The most disappointing aspect of the stay was the food. Hugely overpriced for quality. The food was bland. Not much else to say. The restaurant was nice but could do with new napkins, the ones we were given were old and tattered. Another aspect to note is the cocktails were more expensive in the spa than in the restaurant despite this being exactly the same menu. Felt like a money grab and expected much higher standards. I, however, don't have a bad word to say about the staff, all were excellent, welcoming and accommodating.nnProbably wouldn't return at that price, certainly not to the restaurant.
I decided recently to return to the Rabbit after previously not having been too impressed with a meal I had. The next visit, around 1pm, the lunch was very good. I chose Sea Bass and i was very impressed and looked forward to returning. Yesterday evening my friend and I decided to return once again for a meal, it was approximately 4:30pmY and the lunch menu was still available, so we chose the two course option, both selecting the brie starter and Sea Bass for main course. The Brie starter was nothing special, but OK, the Sea Bass was fine but the potatoes sauce was dried up abd contained several Sea shells for whatever reason. It was almost as if this was what was left over from the lunch menu, it certainly wasn't freshly cooked. Disappointed once again, its a pity as the Rabbit is such a beautiful place.
I was at a wedding here 2day & the whole day was amazing. Delicious food, gluten free venue was beautiful & the service was excellent. There were even flipflops in the ladies 4 use, 4 sore feet later in the day
We stayed on the ground floor and there was a strong smell of drains from the moment we walked into our room and throughout our stay. Avoid the ground floor rooms if you can. The rooms are dark and ours more than usual as a couple of bulbs were out and the ceiling fan didn’t work warm night. The spa area is excellent and worth the trip. The food is good but not excellent. The restaurant team are friendly but a bit oblivious wrong food brought, unaware of inclusive tariff rules for guests etc. More training needed is all. On checkout the receptionist wanted to charge us for dinner which was included. A bit disorganised but a nice place apart from the pervasive smell of drains in our room.
