A lovely and different afternoon experience, the service is amazing, the food is delicious and filling. There is a very large selection of teas to choose from, and you will learn a bit about your selected tea which is fun. The food is all vegetarian and wonderfully presented and tastes great. We had the option with the added dim sum so it is definitely very filling. I highly recommend this a very fun way to spend and afternoon weekend. Do be aware payment is currently only in cash and take into account the added 10% service charge. I very much look forward to returning.
What a fabulous experience at Richard and Pei’s teahouse! The service was incredible and the food was out of this world! We began with a tea ceremony, and then had lots of lovely Chinese inspired dishes, ending with a whole range of sweet treats! It was lovely and intimate and I would 100% recommend this to anyone. I will be back again soon! Thank you :
We had the ichi-go ichi-e afternoon tea, which was excellent. It was a great experience learning about the tea ceremonies and the methods for infusing the teas. The tricky bit is choosing which tea to try as there are so many. The very friendly, helpful and informative staff helped advise on the choice of tea. Do not think that it is just afternoon tea and that you will want more to eat afterwards because it is a proper meal, with plenty to eat.
Well we had a fabulous afternoon at this quirky and unusual tea room. This place is unique to London and the owner's knowledge of tea and attention to detail is second to none. You are transported to a world where you can relax and enjoy some very special flavours in the cakes too. Highly recommend. Have already booked to go back. Delicious.
Excellent experience. We had the afternoon tea and both the tea selection and the food were amazing. The expertise and kindness of the hosts is remarkable. Very cozy and well decorated space and the staff dedicated to make you enjoy your visit. Very recommended to tea lovers!
Love love love. Cannot say enough about the owners, most absolutely the most lovely people of the best kind. Cosy, intimate, tastefully decorated and quiet tea room, excellent quality teas. The service was wonderful and informative. The food was very unique and delicious. It exuded the love and care of those who prepared it. The flavour pairings were excellent! Ginger plum jam and aged cheddar! Mmm!!! The visit from the cat next door was an unexpected treat. Thank you for an enchanting evening!
I would highly recommend a visit to The Teanamu Chaya Teahouse. We visited the Teahouse for the most beautiful afternoon tea experience on a dull Saturday afternoon and we were transported into another world. The tearoom is small but perfect and it is a fabulous alternative to a traditional 'English' afternoon tea. Pei is an expert and his knowledge of traditional tea and its making and his beautiful food is well worth a visit and is very good value for money. We are looking forward to visiting again!
Very special place. One of those hidden gems of London. Beautiful cosy, homely tearoom in the front of a residential house. Food was delicious. So many teas to choose from but just ask the tea master who can recommend something specifically for you. Hosts are super friendly and relaxed. Can't recommend it enough.
Simply one of the best tea houses in the world. My wife and I have traveled to many countries searching for tea adventures. Teanamu combines the traditional Afternoon tea in Britain with some of the best teas from China, Taiwan and Japan. The food is expertly designed to compliment the tea experience. Well worth the trek to find this hidden oasis.
At first a little difficult to find, Teanamu turned out to be a small house, beautifully fitted out to seat 10 across several tables and serving the most amazing tea, dumplings, sweets and sandwiches I have ever eaten. The experience felt timeless; we were taught about the origins of our tea and the ceremony by the host as soft Chinese music filled the background. The food was prepared that morning "everything except the clotted cream" and all was intelligently paired and delicious: we had Szechuan peppercorn and peanut honeycomb; chocolate tart with a hawthorn disk and a bitter cracker; and several other delights. We sat for two hours in rapture, feeling quite shellshocked when we finally emerged back into the city. Fully recommend to anyone that is passionate about tea and would like a Zen, otherworldly experience during their weekend.
